Guilin Medical University (GLMU) is located in Guilin, a world-famous tourist city with rich culture and a long history. Founded in 1935, the university is one of the earliest medical universities and colleges in China. It is approved by Ministry of Education of the People’s Republic of China as one of the first batch of universities as the test sites for “Education Plan for Future Outstanding Doctors”, and it is a university with excellent undergraduate teaching level assessed by Ministry of Education, which is called “the bright medical pearl that glistens in northern Guangxi”.
Guilin Medical University has 3 campuses - Lingui Campus, Dongcheng Campus and Lequn Campus, covering a total area of more than 100 hectares.It has 20 colleges, schools, faculties and departments, including School of Basic, Medical Sciences, Clinical College, School of Pharmaceutical Sciences, etc., 3 directly affiliated hospitals and 25 clinical teaching hospitals. Its disciplines of clinical medicine, pharmacology and toxicology have been listed in the top 1% of the ESI global ranking. The University’s full-time higher education system offers 26 bachelor’s programs, such as clinical medicine, pharmacy, biotechnology, etc. The University currently has 5 master’s programs in first-level disciplines and 8 professional master’s programs, covering three disciplines of medicine, science and management. And the university is authorized to grant the professional degree of doctor of clinical medicine. There are nearly 30,000 full-time undergraduates and junior college students, postgraduate students and international students at GLMU.
Guilin Medical University attach importance to the construction of the faculty team, respect and care for the talents. There are more than 6,800 faculty and medical staff. Among the faculty, 50% of full-time teachers have doctoral degrees, and more than 70% of them have senior professional and technical positions. There are more than 1000 master supervisors and nearly 100 doctoral supervisors.
Guilin Medical University has 14 provincial and ministerial level platforms, 19 city-level scientific research platforms for scientific research. The library of GLMU covers an area of about 47,600 square meters and is divided into Library of Dongcheng Campus, Library of Lequn Campus, Library of the Second Affiliated Hospital and Rensheng Library donated by Mr. Jiang Rensheng, one of the outstanding alumnus of GLMU. The library has collected more than 1.63 million paper books, more than 3.75 million e-books and e-periodicals.
Guilin Medical University obtained the qualification of enrolling international students in 1993, and was one of the first batch of universities and colleges qualified by the Ministry of Education of the PRC to enroll international students. College of International Education was established in 2007, and began enrolling international students in 2008. It has accepted international students from Vietnam, Indonesia, Cambodia, Pakistan, India, Nepal, Tajikistan and other countries along the the Belt and Road Initiative, from African countries such as Cameroon and Nigeria, as well as the United States, Canada etc. to study at GLMU.
Guilin Medical University has been actively carrying out multi-form, multi-channel and multi-level international cooperation and exchanges, working hard to improve its educational internationalization. At present, the university has established friendly and cooperative relations with more than 20 universities and institutions from more than 10 countries and regions such as Japan, South Korea, Vietnam, Thailand, Malaysia and the United States.

3. Accommodation fee: about RMB¥ 4,500 /year （charges for water and electricity are not included and will be paid by the students themselves）.
Notes: Set by Finance Office of GLMU, the accommodation fees are different for different apartment buildings and campuses, and may be altered in different years.
4. Other fees:
lInsurance fee: RMB¥800 /year
lFees of physical examination and visa/resident permit application will be charged by relevant national official departments according to rules and regulations.
lTextbook fee: students will purchase the recommended books by themselves according to the courses of each semester.
