Sichuan Technology and Business College (hereafter “STBC” or “the college”), established in 1959, is a full-time public higher vocational college approved by the People’s Government of Sichuan Province and supervised by the Sichuan Provincial Economic and Information Department. Located at Dujiangyan, a city with three world heritages, STBC is the only college in Sichuan Province that has specialized in light industries for over 60 years.The college offers over 30 majors, including three key provincial majors: Food Biotechnology, Art Design and Business Administration; and five advanced provincial majors: Mechatronics, E-commerce, Tourism Management, Business Administration and Environmental Monitoring and Recovery. To proactively meet the needs of SMEs in Sichuan Province, the college set up the first “College of Professional Managers” among the higher vocational colleges in China to cultivate interdisciplinary technicians and professionals. It implemented the plan of “in-depth cooperation with 100 enterprises” and signed cooperative agreements with more than 130 enterprises and institutions. It took a leadership in establishing Sichuan Light Industry Vocational Education Group and Sichuan Liquor Industry-Education Alliance, and cooperated with relevant local governments, well-known colleges and universities as well famous domestic and foreign enterprises to build secondary colleges and research institutes (centers), among which “Kingsoft-HP Chengdu Big Data Innovation and Application Base” and “Industry-Education Integrated Food and Beverage Testing Center” jointly set by the College and Sichuan Food Research Institute are national productive training bases.Since 1992, the college has been actively carrying out international exchanges and international education. Now it has established exchanges and cooperation with universities and educational institutions in countries and regions such as Canada, Japan, the United States, Germany, Singapore, Russia, Thailand and Malaysia and so forth. The college offers cooperative projects including Specialist Construction, Academic Exchanges, Teaching Staff Training, Student Study-abroad Programs and Scientific Research Cooperation. Additionally, the college has welcomed international students from more than 10 countries along the “One Belt and One Road” routes such as Thailand, Indonesia and Kazakhstan, training badly-needed constructors for Belt and Road countries and spreading light industry expertise with green concept in mind.
