Profile of Panzhihua University

Panzhihua University, founded in 1983, is located in Panzhihua city, Sichuan province, China, which is the famous capital of vanadium-titanium, the sunshine flower city, the recovery resort and the only excellent tourist city named after kapok.

Disciplines
Panzhihua University is one of the 100 national application-oriented universities engaged in the integrated development of industry and education, offering 59 undergraduate majors and 41 3-year college majors, covering 9 discipline fields, including: Science, Engineering, Humanities, Law, Economics, Management, Medicine, Art and Agriculture. In the university there is one state-level characteristic major, one state-level comprehensive pilot project of major reform, fifteen dominant majors at provincial and ministerial level, six characteristic majors, three application-oriented demonstration majors, three comprehensive pilot projects of major reform, twelve excellent talent cultivation plans and eleven excellent courses at provincial level.

Education System
There are about 16,000 students, including 3-year college students, undergraduates, graduates and international students. The university has reasonable education system and attaches importance to the cultivation of students' innovative and entrepreneurial ability. Therefore, there sets up entrepreneurship institute, student innovation and entrepreneurship club, student science and technology entrepreneurship incubator and university science park. And in recent 5 years, there has established 740 student innovative experiment projects, incubated 151 graduate enterprise programs and 37 enterprises has incubated successfully. The students have made great achievements not only in various academic competitions, but also in the contest of innovation and entrepreneurship. The employment rate of graduates has remained above 90 percent. Some of the alumni have been the government dignitaries and successful entrepreneurs.

Faculty
There are 1, 226 faculty, among which there are 946 full-time teachers, 422 teachers with the tittle of professor or associate professor, 775 with the master or doctor degrees. State Council Government Special Expert Allowance Winners, Academic and Technical Leaders or Reserve Candidates at the Provincial and Municipal Levels number about 100.

Scientific Research
The university attaches great importance to scientific research and gets fruitful achievements. It is one of the provincial intellectual property cultivation institutes and pilot universities to encourage scientific and technological personnel to make innovation and entrepreneurship. Since 2016, the university has undertaken more than 500 research projects at or above the municipal level, among which there are 5 projects at the national level, 84 projects at the provincial or ministerial level, 5 significant projects of Panxi National Strategic Resources Innovation and Development Pilot Zone.

International Cooperation
The university adheres to the open school-running model. It has established cooperative relationships with foreign colleges and universities as well as the scientific research institutions in the United States, Russia, England, Canada, Australia, Sweden, Malaysia, Thailand and so on.

△Students with HSK4 certificate can directly enter the undergraduate programs.

△Students in Engineering Management and Horticulture majors without HSK4 certificate have to attend Chinese language courses firstly. Only after passing HSK4 can students switch to major study.

△Students majoring in International Economics and Trade and Chinese Language and Literature must pass HSK4 before graduation.

Basic requirements for Admission

1. Applicants must be non-Chinese citizens and with valid foreign passport.

2. Applicants must abide Chinese laws and regulations, the disciplines and the rules of Panzhihua University.

3. Applicants for undergraduate programs should be over 18 years old and less than 25 years old.

4. Applicants for undergraduate programs must obtain high school diploma or the diploma with equal effect before applying, and at least reach 60% of total results of the college entrance examination or the equivalent examinations.

5. Applicants from non-English speaking countries must be fluent in English (Applicants for International Economics and Trade need IELTS 5.5/TOEFL 75 or above).

6. Applicants must be in good health and enough financial supported.

7. Entry and exit permit processing fees: (Immigration management agency collection）

Scholarships

1. Excellent scholarship: It is selected in accordance with the course scores and comprehensive quality assessment scores of the last academic year, of which the course scores account for 70% and the comprehensive quality assessment scores account for 30%.
First class scholarship: the coverage ratio is about 10%,
Second class scholarship: the coverage ratio is about 15%,
Third class scholarship: the coverage ratio is about 20%.
