Brief Introduction of Luohe Medical College

Located in Luohe City, Henan Province, Luohe Medical College（LMC） is situated in a renowned Chinese cultural city, a celebrated Chinese cuisine hub, an ecological water city in central China, and a regional center city for central and southern Henan. Established in 1924, the college is among the earliest Western medicine training institutions in Henan Province. In May 2004, it was officially upgraded to a public college, sanctioned by the Ministry of Education.
LMC is spread across two campuses, covering a total area of over 1540 mu and a built-up area of over 400,000 square meters. The Yuanhui campus is situated within the renowned 4A-level Shali River Scenic Spot, while the Shaoling campus neighbors the esteemed 4A-level Xushen Cultural Park. LMC has prudently incorporated over 150 eminent experts and scholars from Harvard Medical School, Peking University, and other renowned institutions worldwide to serve as our academic leaders. Our academic offerings include two disciplines, medicine and engineering, with 18 majors, encompassing full-time, Sino-foreign cooperative, and continuing education programs, thereby establishing a comprehensive medical personnel training system. LMC is further complemented by three affiliated hospitals, collectively offering over 3,500 beds. The first affiliated hospital is a "Tertiary Class A" general hospital, the second affiliated hospital specializes in orthopedics, and the third affiliated hospital is the Luohe Rehabilitation Hospital and Henan South-Central Rehabilitation Center for the Disabled.
LMC is committed to the philosophy of open education and actively engages in international exchanges and collaborations. It has been recognized as an accredited training base for foreign students, attracting students from a total of 18 countries to study at our institution. We have established partnerships with the United States, New Zealand, Malaysia, Hungary, and other nations, offering majors in clinical medicine, dentistry, medical imaging technology, and medical rehabilitation technology, among others. Furthermore, we have established a cooperative education model catering to students from junior college to undergraduate and postgraduate levels. We continuously strive to deepen the exchange and cooperation in higher education between sister cities, enhance the interactions between teachers and students, and establish the "Luohe Medical College Hungarian Cultural Exchange Center."

The College provides favorable accommodation and study environment for international students. There are double rooms and single rooms in international students' apartment building which is equipped with kitchen, laundry room, air conditioning, cable TV, 24 hours hot water and so on, which can meet the living needs of all kinds of students.

2024 LMC Admission Brochure for International Students

ⅠProgram description
This program offer comphrehensive langugage learning courses that can enhance basic skills in listening, speaking, reading and writing.
Type of the program: Chinese Language (full-time)
Duration of the program: One year，normally starts in September every year. Students who have met the requirements will be awarded a certificate according to the relevant provisions.
ⅡEligibility
1. Applicants must be citizens with a valid foreign passport (whose nationalities are not People’s Republic of China). He / She should be well-conducted. He / She should also abide by the Chinese laws, regulations and the rules of the university.
2. Applicants should be aged between 18 and 35, and in good health conditions.
3. Applicants must have a high school diploma or equivalent. （Applicants who are still in the last year of high school can provide expected graduation certificate for submitting application while the official graduation certificate must be provided before enrollment）.
4. Good English communication skills; Students with HSK Level 3 or above are preferred.

From March15 to July 15

Ⅳ、 Application Materials
Please prepare the following materials before applying：
1. Application Form（Annex 1）
2. Photo Copy of Passport Info Page (valid for more than 1 year, visa page and residence permit page are required for overseas students who have already been in China)
3. Passport Photo
4. Foreigner Physical Examination Form (within 6 months)
5. Certificate of no criminal record (within 3 months)
6. Scanned copy of highest academic certificate and transcript. Recent graduates shall provide pre-graduation certificate which shows your expected graduation time and present the original high school certification, transcripts, and their translations when you register.
7. Resume (from primary school to now)
8. Recommendation Letters should be provided if applicants have already studied in China. (email, phone number and signature should be included.)
9. Chinese Proficiency Certificate (if have)
* In addition to the application materials detailed above, applicants should submit other supplementary materials in time to the requirements of LMC.
* Documents other than Chinese or English are required to be translated and notarized.
* Applicants who provide incomplete materials will not be accepted. The materials above won’t be returned whether you are admitted or not.

Ⅴ、Admission Procedure
1. Professional colleges will organize a panel of experts to review the application documents. During the process, long-distance or face-to-face interviews will be conducted, if necessary.
2. With the approval of the supervising bureaus, LMC will issue JW202 Form and the admission notice to the admitted applicants.
3. Students who are accepted should apply for the X1 visa at their country’s Chinese Embassy (or Chinese Consulate) with “Luohe Medical College Admission Notice” and “Visa Application for Study in China(JW202)”, and change X1 visa into a Residence Permit for Foreign Students within 30 days after entering China. Students who don’t apply for the relevant visa and residence permit will have to drop out. LMC doesn’t accept students with non-student visas.
4. Students who are accepted must register at the date and the address according to “Luohe Medical College Admission Notice”. Applicants shall bring the original of admission notice, JW202 Form and other required materials to the school within the date specified in the admission notice for registration procedures, and pay the tuition & accommodation fee and other fees. An exception can be made to applicants who have informed the school of their special reasons and enrollment can be extended after approval. Registration in advance will not be accepted.
6. The original graduation certificate, language proficiency certificate, etc. will be checked again at the time of registration. Those who fail to provide certificate document or fail the certificate verification will be canceled the admission.

Note：
（1）Full amount of fees for an academic year should be paid one-time upon registration. If any adjustment, the provisions of the superior documents shall prevail.
（2）Twin rooms are for international students, with air conditioner, furniture, water heater, Shower etc.
（Water and electricity charges are not included）
2. Insurance
RMB 800/academic year/person
All international students are required to buy insurance in accordance with relevant regulations of China and the requirements of the school. Failure to get insurance accordingly will be denied for registration.
