Nanjing Audit University, or NAU, is the only university with the word “Audit” in its name and one of the cradles of higher education of Audit in China. NAU was initially founded in 1983 and merged with Nanjing Finance Higher Institute in 2002. In 2007, NAU was evaluated “Excellence” in the National Education Accreditation authorized by China Ministry of Education. Starting from 1993, NAU has been offering undergraduate programs, and in 2013, it began to provide postgraduate programs with Master degrees. In 2015, NAU was upgraded into the category of “university” granted by China Ministry of Education. After 37 years’ construction and development, NAU is now widely recognized as an international higher education institution uniquely characterized with Audit education, supported with the comprehensive academic structures of Economics, Administration, Law, Liberal Arts and Science.

NAU’s current student population totals around 16,000. It has a strong teaching faculty of 1100 teachers, among whom there are 184 professors and 644 with Doctor Degrees. Today`s NAU consists of two beautiful campuses, Mochou and Pukou, covering a total area of over 145 hectares.

NAU provides 35 undergraduate programs and 15 postgraduate programs. Auditing, finance, and cameralistics are three featured disciplines granted by the Ministry of Education; finance, cameralistics, management science and engineering, business management and auditing are provincial key disciplines; auditing and finance are provincial brand disciplines; finance, accounting, business management, international economy and trade, information management and information systems are provincial featured majors. In the year 2012, NAU was ranked as “Jiangsu Provincial Outstanding College in Teaching Affairs”.

Auditing science and technology has established itself as a provincial preponderant discipline, theoretical economics as provincial first-level key cultivation discipline, law and public management as provincial first-level key construction disciplines. In the past five years, NAU has undertaken 169 natural science fund and national social science fund projects, as well as 200 provincial scientific research projects.

NAU firmly adheres to the principle of opening up to the outside world. Up to the year of 2020, we have over 900 teachers going abroad on visiting or training programs, and 75 teachers engaged in UN audit. Over 1,800 foreign experts and scholars such as Reinhard Selten, Nobel Prize Laureate for Economics,  Mr. Gene Dodaro, Comptroller General of the United States, and Mr. Didier Migaud, First President of the Cour des Comptes etc. have visited NAU to give lectures or carry out academic exchanges, and some of them were conferred honorary professors of NAU. Altogether 3,762 NAU students have visited foreign universities or institutes on exchange programs, or attended international conferences, academic competitions and overseas voluntary activities, etc. NAU has established extensive cooperation and exchange contacts with international organizations such as International Organization of Supreme Audit Institutions (INTOSAI), Asian Organization of Supreme Audit Institutions (ASOSAI), Institute Of Internal Auditors (IIA), supreme audit institutions of ten-odd countries including the U.S., UK, and France, as well as colleges and universities of Europe, America, Australia, and Africa. NAU has been recognized as the only Partner University of IAEP (the Internal Auditing Education Partnership) program in China and one of the 39 universities globally recognized by IIA. NAU cooperates with the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) to foster international CPAs and has been granted Platinum Status as training provider by the ACCA Headquarters.
