Brief introduction to Southwest Forestry University
Southwest Forestry University (SWFU) lies in the northeast part of Kunming, which is known through the country as “Spring City” for her mild climate and dramatic landscape and also the capital of Yunnan Province, P. R. China. Solely established in the western region of China with specialty in forestry, SWFU is a comprehensive university providing multi-disciplinary courses in forest conservation and sustainable utilization, landscape construction, forest engineering, bio-technology, eco-tourism, agricultural and forest economy, business administration, computer science and technology, and English education.
SWFU is situated adjacent to the Golden Temple forest area and Kunming World Horticulture Exposition Garden. Located in the water and forest conservation district in Kunming, SWFU is proud of her ecologically friendly campus in a natural oxygen bar with chirping birds and green trees and plants coming into blossom around the seasons. SWFU recruits international students for long-term and short-term programs in Chinese language learning, in addition to its regular undergraduate and postgraduate programs in Chinese language and other specialties. SWFU specializes in Chinese language, forestry, environmental protection, tourism, landscape construction, horticulture, wood processing, and natural resources conservation. If you are interested in these academic fields, you are warmly welcome to study or carry out academic co-operation and exchanges with SWFU, wherever you come from foreign countries, Southeast Asia countries or western countries.

There are 48 international student dorms, located on the 2nd floor, 4th floor, 5th floor, 6th floor of the International Exchange Center, Southwest Forestry University. Among them, 2nd and 4th floors are girls dormitory, 5th and 6th floors are boys' dormitory. Accommodation fee is 1600 yuan / yr, 6 people / room. The international college office is located on the 3rd floor, along with the residence of international students, and realizes integrated management.

Enrollment process of overseas students from Southwest Forestry University in China

I. submit an application
The applicant logs on to the website of Southwest Forestry University, inquires the enrollment brochure, links to the relevant web pages, truthfully fill in the personal information, and sends the application materials (electronic version) to the International College admissions email: yxiaoran@swfu.edu.cn, or to the International College Office. If you have any questions, you can consult and understand from the International College.

II. Application materials for students in the first instance of the International College
The International College classifies and summarizes the application materials, fills in the "admission form" according to the facts, puts forward admission suggestions, and submits it to the "leading Group on International Student enrollment of Southwest Forestry University" for discussion and examination.

III. Deliberation by the leading Group on the enrollment of International students of Southwest Forestry University

The admissions leading group will discuss and review the applicant's materials and the "admission form" to put forward the final admission proposal.

IV. Platform audit
According to the admission recommendation of the leading group for international student enrollment of Southwest Forestry University, the International College will input the applicant's information into the "National Information Management platform for studying in China". If the platform is approved, the student's visa materials will be prepared. if the platform fails to pass the examination, notify or guide the applicant to modify the application materials.

V. School-level examination and approval
The school examines the admission notice and the visa application form for foreign students to come to China (JW201 or JW202 form).

VI. Examination and approval by the competent department at a higher level
The Yunnan Provincial Department of Education and the Provincial Foreign Affairs Office examined and signed the Visa Application form for Foreign students to come to China.
