Shaoxing University (SU), approved by the Ministry of Education of China in 1996 is a full-time multidisciplinary university granting bachelor and master’s degrees. It is located in Shaoxing, a historic city widely known for its deep cultural accumulations. Organized within SU are 16 schools, an affiliated hospital and one independent college, offering 63 BA programs in 9 academic disciplines, namely, economics, law, pedagogy, literature, science, engineering, medical science, management and arts. It offers 7 academic masters’ programs and 6 professional masters’ programs, with a total student number of approximately 15,000. The whole faculty totals more than 1600, out of which 1100 are full-time teaching faculty (nearly 500 full and associate professors, nearly 500 doctoral degree holders). Over 300 international students (all of which are degree students) from more than 40 countries are studying in the University.

(1) The university scholarship and stipend are provided to the outstanding undergraduate freshmen with ¥16 000-24 000/year (equivalent to the tuition) and free accommodation in twin bed rooms plus a yearly stipend of ¥5000 (to be provided in 10 months) for the first academic year; (2) The university stipend is provided to the qualified undergraduate freshmen with free accommodation in twin bed rooms plus a yearly stipend of ¥5000 (to be provided in 10 months) for the first academic year. The students can continue to enjoy this stipend if they meet with the academic requirements of the university as well as its rules and regulations for the four years of their study; (3) Annual scholarship and stipend are provided to the outstanding undergraduate students with ¥16 000-24 000/year (equivalent to the tuition) and free accommodation in twin bed rooms plus a yearly stipend of ¥5000 (to be provided in 10 months) if they meet with the academic requirements of the university as well as its rules and regulations from the second to the fourth year; (4) Provincial scholarship (class B) is provided with ¥20 000 /student, according to the quota issued by the provincial finance and education departments for the qualified students from the second to the fourth year. |

Note: Scholarship or stipend winners must first pay the tuition fee and accommodation fee of the current academic year in full before the beginning of each academic year, and then the Universality will issue corresponding scholarships and subsidize the accommodation fee to students in the form of grants.
