       铜仁学院位于贵州省著名旅游胜地铜仁市。铜仁历史悠久,人文底蕴厚重，自然资源丰富，聚居着土家、苗、侗、仡佬等29个少数民族，人口430万。境内的梵净山为武陵山脉的主峰，是联合国一级世界生态保护区和全球“ 人与生物圈”保护网成员、国家级自然保护区、中国第五大佛教名山，被誉为“地球和人类之宝”、“天然氧吧”。乌江、锦江润泽黔东大地，孕育了丰富的生态文化、民族文化、佛教文化。这里交通便利，高速公路实现县县通，水运、航空立体构建，率先进入高铁时代。
Tongren University is located in Tongren City, a famoustourist destination of Guizhou Province, which has a longhistory, profound culture, and rich natural resources. TongrenCity has 29 minorities dwelt in it with the population of 4.3million, including Tuja, Miao, Dong and Gelao. Mount Fanjinglocated in Tongren is the main peak of Wuling Mountains, thelevel 1 World's Ecologic Protection Zone of the UN and memberof "Human and Biosphere" of the world, national nature reserve,and the fifth largest Bu uddhism mountain of China. It is knownas "the treasure of the earth and human" and "natural oxygenbar". The Wujiang River and Jinjiang River moisten the eastof Guizhou Province and give birth to rich ecological culture,ethnic culture and Buddhist culture. Moreover, Tongren enjoysconvenient transportation with highways and roads extendingto all counties. The 3D network of water, road and air transport.enables' Tongren to be the first to enter into high-speed rail era.

      学校办学历史可追溯至1920年美国基督教会创办的明德中学，2006年经国家教育部批准组建为全日制本科院校，是国家“十三五”产教融合发展工程项目建设高校、黄炎培职业教育奖“优秀学校奖”获奖高校、教育部科学工作能力提升计划建设院校、贵州省“十三五”硕士学位授予立项建设单位、贵州省首批向应用型转型发展试点高校和全国及省级文明单位、全国民族团结进步模范单位。在“软科2019中国最好大学”排行榜中,学校排名520位，名列贵州综合性本科高校第六、市州本科高校第一。
Tongren University is an undergraduate level institution established in 2006 upon the approval of the Ministry of Education of China, with a history that can traced back to the Mingde School founded by American missionaries in 1920. The university is part of the national 13th Five-Year Plan’s Education-Industry Integration Project and the Ministry of Education’s Science Capacity Enhancement Programme, and winner of Excellent University Award at the Huang Yanpei Vocational Education Awards. It is also a Master’s Degree awarding institution in the pipeline, as part of the 13th Five-Year Plan, and a pilot university for Application-oriented Transformation of Guizhou Province. Being a national and provincial Civilized Unit and National Ethnic Unity Model, Tongren University ranked 520th in Shanghai Ranking’s list of best universities in China, 6th in Guizhou, and 1st in the city of Tongren in 2019.

        学校坚持人才培养中心地位，着力培养适应区域经济社会发展，人格品质健全、专业知识坚实、技术技能较强，具有智慧灵性和国际视野及创新精神的高素质应用型人才。三年来，学校承担省部级教学改革项目及产教融合项目39项；国家级大学生实践创新训练计划66项、省级130项；有国家卓越农林人才教育培养计划专业1个（农村区域发展）、国家级民族文化传承与创新示范专业1个（视觉传达设计）；贵州省区域一流培育专业1个（园林）、贵州省卓越人才教育培养计划专业4个、贵州省专业综合改革试点专业6个、贵州省特色专业2个、贵州省一流本科专业建设点5个（学前教育、英语、园林、农村区域发展、视觉传达设计）；建有贵州省实验教学示范中心1个、省级辅导员工作室（黔黔辅导员工作室）1个。
Tongren University’s endeavours are centred on fostering application-oriented talents with integrity, professionalism and expertise, and with the international vision, innovative spirit and inspired mind that will allow them to become leaders in regional socio-economic development. In the past 3 years, the university has undertaken 39 provincial and ministerial level teaching reform and industry-education integration projects, 66 national and 130 provincial university student placement and innovation training projects; 1 programme in the National Excellence Project in Agricultural and Forestry Talent Development (Rural Regional Development, and 1 model programme in National Cultural Heritage and Innovation (Visual Communication Design); 1 programme in the Provincial First-class Discipline Development Scheme (Landscape Architecture), 4 programmes in the Provincial Talent Excellence Project, 6 pilot programmes in Provincial Comprehensive Programme Reform Project, 2 Guizhou Specialty Programmes, and 5 programmes in Provincial First-class Undergraduate Programme Development Project (Preschool Education, English, Landscape Architecture, Rural Regional Development and Visual Communication Design); 1 provincial Experimental Teaching Demonstration Centre and 1 provincial Counsellors’ Workshop (the Qianqian Counsellors’ Workshop).

        学校坚持国际化办学战略，积极开展国际交流合作。至今，为“一带一路”沿线国家培养高级工程技术人才和管理人才1697人次；与柬埔寨教育部、老挝琅南塔省教育厅、老挝沙湾那吉省教育厅、沙耶武里省教育厅、万象省教育厅、乌珊赛省教育厅共建“人才培养基地”；先后与美国、英国、韩国、泰国、柬埔寨、老挝、马来西亚、印度尼西亚等国（境）外85所高校和教育机构建立友好合作关系，选派学生503人次、教师121人次赴国（境）外交流访学；重点推进“一带一路”教育国际合作，围绕十大重点学科在泰国、老挝、柬埔寨国家建立海外实习实训基地达10个；建立集学术研究、人才培养、政策咨询为一体的老挝国别研究机构即“老挝研究中心”。
Tongren University follows a highly international approach in education, exchanges and cooperation activities. So far, the university has trained 1,697 senior engineering, technical and managerial professionals for countries along the Belt and Road; built joint Talent Cultivation Bases with the Cambodian Ministry of Education, the Education Departments of Louang Namtha, Savannakhét, Sainyabuli, Vientiane, and Oudomxay of Laos. The university has forged partnerships with 85 international institutions in the US, the UK, Korea, Thailand, Cambodia, Laos, Malaysia, Indonesia and beyond, and has sent 503 students and 121 academics on international mobility programmes. With a priority on international education cooperation along the “Belt and Road”, Tongren University has built 10 overseas internship bases for 10 major disciplines in Thailand, Laos and Cambodia, in addition to a Laos Research Centre for academic research, talent development and policy consultancy.

Tongren University (TU) International Students Enrollment Guide

I. Programmes

1. Long-term Chinese Language Programme

Enrollment Population: 260

Duration of Study: one year

Intake Time: September 2020 (Offline classroom teaching starts from September 2020 if the global health situation allows; If not, online teaching will be given in September 2020 instead.)

Time of Application: June-July, 2020

Eligibility for applicants:

a.  Non-Chinese citizens holding valid foreign passports, with the age of at least 18, of good health,  good moral character and no criminal record;  

b. Having graduated from a senior middle school (completing Grade 6 at a secondary school) or above;

c. Abiding by the laws in China and the rules and regulations of the school, and respect Chinese customs and habits.

Curriculum:

Compulsory: Comprehensive Chinese, Listening, Speaking, Reading, Writing, HSK Training Course, etc. Around 30 Academic hours per week in total.

Optional: Chinese History, Chinese Culture, Chinese Clothing Culture, Chinese Ethnicities and Religions, Chinese Calligraphy and Painting, Chinese Hand Writing, Chinese Wushu (incl. Taichi), Ethnic Music and Dance, and Guizhou Tourism and Culture, etc.

2. Undergraduate Programmes

Enrollment Population: 160

Duration of Study: 4 years

Intake Time: September 2020 (Offline classroom teaching starts from September 2020 if the global health situation allows; If not, online teaching will be given in September 2020 instead.)

Time of Application: June 2020

Eligibility for Applicants:

 a.  A non-Chinese citizen holding a valid foreign passport, with the age of at least 18, of good health,  good moral character and no criminal record;

b. Having graduated from a senior middle school (completing Grade 6 at a secondary school) or above;

c. Having a HSK 4 certificate with a score of at least 180;

d. Abiding by all the laws in China and the rules and regulations of the school, and respect Chinese customs and habits.

Release candidates list and issue offers (suppose to complete at the end of July)


 

Offline classroom teaching starts from September 2020 if the global health situation allows; If not, online teaching will be given in September 2020 instead.


 

In March 2021, official admission letters will be issued to the offer-holding students who pass HSK4 and Chinese language exams for special purposes.


 

At the end of March 2021, officially enroll the candidates who have arrived at school and paid the tuition by then.
