Jingdezhen Ceramic Institute(景德镇陶瓷大学)

Jingdezhen Ceramic Institute is the only multidisciplinary institution named after“ceramic” in China. It is one of the first 31 independent undergraduate art institutions in China and one of 94 universities that are eligible to accept Chinese government scholarships for international students. Nowadays, there are 57 undergraduate majors, 3 first-level discipline doctoral programs, 13 first-level discipline master programs, and 8 professional degree master programs, covering 10 programs including engineering, art, management, literature, science, history, etc. JCI gives full play to the advantages of Jingdezhen base, the capital city of porcelain for thousand of years, actively conforms to the country’s economic and social development and the development needs of the times. It has successively trained more than 80,000 ceramic professionals for the society, and created a large number of famous ceramic artists, designers, technology leaders and entrepreneurs, created a large number of famous ceramic brands such as Keda, Arrow, Jinyitao, Jianyi, Ou Shennuo, Daoshi, Tedi, etc., which have profoundly affected the past, present and future of China’s ceramic industry, forming a unique "Jingdezhen Ceramic Institute Phenomenon" and enjoys the reputation of "Ceramic Huangpu".

Application Requirements

Undergraduate Programs(Four years): International students who apply for the undergraduate program must have graduation certificate of high schoollevel or higher, and under the age of 25 before enrolling, HSK level 4 or above. Applicants have to take an interview before the enrollment.

Masters Degree Programs (Three years): International students who apply for Master’s degree program must have obtained bachelor's degree or higher and under the age of 35 before enrolling. HSK level 5 or above. Applicants have to take an interview before the enrollment.

Doctor’s Degree Programs (Three years): International students who apply for Doctor’s degree program must have master’s degree or higher and under the age of 40 before enrolling, HSK level 5. Applicants have to take an interview before the enrollment.

Non-degree Programs: International students whoapply for non-degree study programs must have graduation certificate of high school level or higher.

Applicants use the online application system to fill all the required information and submit documents from March 1 to April 30.

 The International Ceramic Art Studio

The International Ceramic Art Studio of Jingdezhen Ceramic Institute is a core element of the International education programming. Following a strategy of promoting cultural exchange projects and enhancing academic experience with international exchanges, the studio hosts ceramic art workshops, artist-in-residence programs, lectures and a wide range of onsite and traveling exhibitions. As a platform to promote intercultural dialogue, such projects actively promote diverse forms of ceramic art development and intercultural communication on campus and on a national level.
