Hebei Institute of International Business and Economics (HIIBE) is located at the junction of the world-famous summer resorts named Beidaihe and Nandaihe. It covers an area of 660 acres and has a building area of 240,000 square meters. It has more than 500 faculty members, 12,000 students, and more than 580,000 book collections. Also, the total amount of teaching equipment is more than 57 million yuan.

The HIIBE aims to recruit junior college students with the academic system of three years, the students who graduated from high school can apply for relevant majors. It offers 8 languages majors including English, French, German, Russian, Japanese, Korean, Arabic, Spanish, etc.. There are 8 departments, including the  Economics and Management Department,  International Business Department, Eastern Language Department, Spanish Department, Tourism Department, Media Department, Elementary Education Department, and Preschool Education Department, focusing on the five major groups of economics and trade, foreign languages, tourism, education, and media, with more than 40 majors and directions. Among them, business English major is a provincial demonstration major, international trade majors and radio, film and television program production are provincial backbone construction majors, business English majors and English education majors are national backbone majors, and preschool education and applied Korean majors are supported by the central government profession.

The HIIBE established two Confucius Institutes in cooperation with San Simeon University in Bolivia in September 2011 and Long Beach State University in California in December 2014. The number of registered students reached more than 20,000. It organized nearly 80 Chinese cultural events and visited activities, and the total number of visitors is 80,000.

The institute has always adhered to the policy of international schooling, and has cooperated and exchanged with more than 30 colleges and universities in the United States, Russia, Spain, Egypt, Germany, Japan, South Korea, etc., and has various forms of cooperation: mainly including teacher-student exchanges and scholars visits, international cooperation in running schools, international cooperative research, complementation and assistance of high-quality educational resources. Close and in-depth cooperation has been carried out on projects such as mutual recognition of credits, undergraduate education, and undergraduate education to provide channels for Chinese students to study abroad, and strive to enable students who are willing to go abroad to find a suitable way out. The institute recruits long-term and short-term international students to study all the year round. Every year, more than 300 foreign students come to our institute to study related majors and further studies. Up to now, the institute has trained more than 4,000 long-term and short-term foreign students.
