University Overview

The Changchun Institute of Technology is a multi-disciplinary full-time university with a primary focus on engineering, but also offers degrees in management, business, and the humanities. CIT is affiliated with the Jilin Provincial Government and recognized by the Jilin Province Academic Degrees Committee. CIT is further recognized by the Ministry of Education and has the power to grant bachelor and master degrees. CIT is dedicated to providing outstanding engineering classes and excellent training programs.
CIT currently has about 17000 full-time students, 213 post-graduate students, 50 Foreign Students, as well as more than 7000 part-time students.
CIT has 20 schools: the School of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, the School of Electronics and Information Engineering, the School of Energy and Power Engineering, the School of Civil Engineering, the School of Water Conservancy and Environmental Engineering, the School of Prospecting & Surveying Engineering, the School of Computer Technology and Engineering, the School of Architecture and Design, the School of Business Management, the School of Sciences, the School of Foreign Languages, the School of International Education, Faculty of building information modeling technology industry，the School of Applied Technology, the School of Graduate Studies, the School of Marxism, the Department of Physical Education, the Engineering Training Centre, the School of Continuing Education, the School of Emergency Management of Jilin Province, with electrical engineering and automation, civil engineering, resource exploration, Intelligent Construction, 'water conservancy and hydropower engineering' as well as machinery design, 'manufacture and automation', engineering cost and construction, and 'gem and material technology' (altogether 56 professional courses).
CIT's two campuses – east and west of Changchun's South Lake Park – cover a total area of 458 000 square meters, including 78 000 square meters of sporting facilities.CIT has 6 provincial-level specialty high-level disciplines, 1 national local university professional comprehensive reform pilot majors, 8 national and provincial characteristics majors, 8 majors through the national engineering education professional certification, 7 national and provincial "excellent engineer education training plan" implementation of majors, 2 national CDIO pilot majors, 8 provincial characteristics of high-level majors, 10 provincial first-class majors, 5 provincial brand majors, 7 provincial talent training model innovation experimental area, and built 22 national and provincial key laboratories and engineering research centers, whose relevant research direction is unique and has obvious advantages in the province. CIT has closed contacted with more than 100 large and medium-sized enterprises in the domestic related industries and established 140 out-of-school internship bases.
CIT participates and focuses on a wide range of international cooperation and exchange i.e. with the University of the West of Scotland of UK; Platov South-Russian State Polytechnic University (NPI) of Russia，the New Mexico State University of USA，the Universitat Rovira i Virgili of Spain，Komsomolsk-na-amure State University，the JADE University of Applied Sciences of Germany，California State University at Chico of USA，Yonam Institute of Technology of Korea，and the Chaoyang University of Technology of Taiwan，the Datong University of Taiwan, the National Kaohsiung First University of Science and Technology of Taiwan. CIT and the aforementioned institutions have established exchange relations, carried out student exchanges as well as several cooperation projects, exchanged experts and scholars and cooperated in scientific research.
CIT focuses on the cultivation of international talents and vigorously promotes Sino-foreign education programs. There are currently four Sino-foreign programs in civil engineering, machine design, and manufacturing automation, energy and power engineering as well as electrical engineering and automation. CIT is happy to announce the successful introduction of quality educational resources. CIT offers degrees and diplomas for international students as well as Chinese language courses, undergraduate courses, and graduate-level professional courses in the fields of wooden construction engineering and water conservancy engineering. CIT has recruited students from Pakistan, Kazakhstan, India, and Ethiopia. CIT is committed to expanding its focus on international projects. CIT applied and was approved of for the EU Erasmus International Project cooperating with 10 colleges and universities in France, Germany, Italy, and Russia etc. CIT is supporting its staff in continuously strengthening its overseas learning and training work in order to further high-level international teaching. In the past five years, more than 100 of CIT's teachers have been to the UK, the United States, Russia, South Korea, Denmark, Germany, the Netherlands, the Czech Republic, Canada, and Taiwan province. CIT has also conducted visits and exchanges with colleges and universities abroad, furthering the exchange of knowledge.

Accommodation Details and Expenses

Changchun Institute of Technology is located near the beautiful Nanhu Lake, within close walking distance of a hospital, banks, a large-scale shopping mall, and supermarkets. Fitness and entertainment venues can also be found in the neighborhood, making for a convenient and vibrant neighborhood. The international students' apartments are located on the Hudong Campus. Double rooms, triple rooms, and quadruple rooms are available. Each apartment is equipped with a communal kitchen, communal reading area, and a communal study room, air conditioner, refrigerator. CIT's cafeteria offers a variety of halal dishes.

Category of student enrollment and admission requirements

Basic requirements:

1. Non-Chinese citizens who hold a valid passport, above the age of 18, and in good health;

2. Abide by the laws and regulations of the Chinese government, abide by the rules and regulations of the school, show respect for the culture and customs of the Chinese people;

3. Have an excellent academic record,

4. Have no criminal record;

5. Have sufficient funds.

2. Send the scanned copies of the application documents required (see VII) to zhengyutao@ccit.edu.cn.

3. School personnel will review the application documents. After the review, eligible students will be provided with an offer letter and the Application Form for the Visa for Overseas Personnel Studying in China (Form JW202). It will take 15-20 working days after the applicant files their application before an offer letter is sent.

Scholarships

Changchun Institute of Technology will offer a scholarship to every international student newly admitted to the school. From the second year of study on, the level of the scholarship will be decided according to the student's academic performance of the previous year. The detailed information is as follows:
