A Brief Introduction to Mingde College of Guizhou University
贵州大学明德学院（以下简称“学院”）位于贵州省省会、中国西南地区重要中心城市——贵阳市。贵阳是云贵高原上一颗闪耀的明珠，平均海拔1000米左右，冬无严寒、夏无酷暑，夏季平均温度为19°C-26°C，有“爽爽的贵阳”之称；喀斯特地貌分布广泛，占全市国土面积的85%，形成了峰林、溶沟、峡谷、溶洞为一体的绚丽景观；森林覆盖率达41.78%，是中国首个“国家森林城市”；汉、苗、布依、仡佬等17个世居民族和谐共荣，形成了五彩缤纷的民族文化“大观园”。
Mingde College of Guizhou University (MDCGU) is located in Guiyang, the capital of Guizhou Province, an important center city in southwest China and a shining pearl on the Yunnan-Guizhou Plateau. With an average altitude of 1000 meters, there are no brutal hotness in summers or freezing coldness in winters in Guiyang. The average temperature in summer hovers between 19°C-26°C, earning itself the nickname “Cool Guiyang”. The Karst landform is widely distributed, accounting for 85% of the total land area, and numerous peaks, grikes canyons, and caves display spectacular landscapes. The forest coverage rate reaches 41.78%, making Guiyang the first “National Forest City” in China. The Han and other 17 ethnic groups such as Miao, Dong, Buyi have been harmoniously and prosperously inhabited here and created a panoramic showplace with colorful ethnic cultures.
学院创建于2001年6月，占地面积955亩，建筑面积56万余平方米，教学生活设施配套齐全，是一所新机制本科独立学院。现有教职工586人，其中具有高级职称177人，“双师型”教师137人。学院实施“三大一先”（大数据、大文化、大健康及先进制造）的人才培养战略，培养掌握科学思维方法、具有较强的获取知识能力和创新思维能力的高级应用型人才。
Founded in June, 2001, MDCGU covers an area of 955 mu, with a total construction area of 560,000 square meters. With excellent teaching faculty and advanced living facilities, it has been developed into an independent new-system undergraduate college. MDCGU now has 586 staff. Among the teaching faculty, 177 teachers are entitled to Senior Professional and 137 are "double-profession" teachers. MDCGU follows the general talent-cultivating principle of “Three Bigs and One Advancement” , which are Big Data, Big Culture, Big Health as well as Advancement of Manufacturing. MDCGU is also aiming at cultivating superior application-oriented talents with innovative thinking and strong ability to acquire knowledge.
学院已形成以工学为主多学科协调发展的学科专业体系，现有信息工程系、数字传媒系、健康管理系、电气工程系、土木工程系和经济管理系6个教学单位，专业有数据科学与大数据技术、机器人工程等41个专业。
MDCGU has developed into a professional system with science-related disciplines as its core and coordinated development for other disciplines. There are totally 6 departments, the Information Engineering Department, the Digital Media Department, the Health Management Department, the Electrical Engineering Department, the Civil Engineering Department and the Economics and Management Department, following with 41 majors such as exclusive data science, big data technology, robot engineering and etc.
Admission Procedure
（1）Eligibility
1) Basic Requirements
◆Foreign citizens, no criminal record, aged over 18 and under 25 years old, in good health condition and in accordance with the Health Standard for International Students stipulated by the Ministry of Education, China.
◆Good moral character and discipline towards the laws and regulations of the Chinese government and the university, respect Chinese customs and habits.
◆Good academic performance, English or Chinese language proficiency.
◆Certificate from highest education attained.
2) Academic Background
◆For Foundation and Bachelor Program, applicants have to provide high school certificate or above;
3) Language Skills (for degree study applicants)
Applicants should have an appropriate language proficiency and are expected to submit related certificates.
◆For Chinese taught programs, applicants need HSK certificate level 4, score 200 or above; or valid proof of Chinese proficiency. (Chinese native speakers can apply for exemption).
◆For English taught program, applicants need TOFEL (computer based) score 60 or above; or IELTS (academic) score 5.0 or above; or valid proof of English proficiency.
◆Applicants who without HSK certificate level 4, can join the Language Foundation Program to study Chinese in Mingde College of Guizhou University, and then enter the degree program after passing HSK certificate level 4.
（2）Application and Registration Dates
◆Application: 1st, December to 30th, June, next year.
◆Registration: in September.
（3）Application Procedure
Applications to all programs should be ONLY done online through Mingde College of Guizhou University “Online Application System”-

STEP1: Register your account and activate it.
STEP2: Fill the application and upload all required documents as follows:
1) An electronic passport photo;
2) Scan copy of passport (all pages)
3) Copy of your highest degree transcript (Notarized English or Chinese translation)
4) Copy of your highest degree certificate (Notarized English or Chinese translation)
5) IELTS certificate or English language proficiency certificate (English taught program applicants must provide)
6) HSK certificate (Chinese taught program applicants must provide)
7) Research proposal (Master Doctoral program applicants must provide)
8) Two recommendation letters (Master Doctoral program applicants must provide)
9) Family financial statement (Minimum 5000 USD, Notarized English or Chinese translation)
10) Medical Report (Notarized English or Chinese translation)
11) Certificate of Non-criminal Record (Notarized English or Chinese translation)
(please ensure that the registration information is true and valid, and the contact telephone number and email address of the applicant should be kept unblocked.)
STEP3: Submit the application and note your application number.
STEP4: Check your admission status regularly.
STEP5: Admission notice will be sent through e-mail after successful verification.
STEP6: Pay application fee and deposit to confirm your seat.
STEP7: Admission documents (Admission Notice and JW202 Form) will be sent by express.
STEP8: Apply for Chinese Visa (X1) and come to uni for registration on time.
