江苏理工学院地处有着3200多年历史的文化古城—江苏省常州市。常州位于长江三角洲中心地带，与上海、南京两大都市等距相望，区位条件优越。这里气候舒适宜人，经济质量优异，社会安宁和谐，交通出行便利，生活环境优美，被评为全国文明城市和中国最具创新力城市。
Jiangsu University of Technology (JSUT) is situated in Changzhou, Jiangsu Province, a renowned cultural city in the central region of the Yangtze River Delta with over 3,200 years of history and advantageous location of equidistance from Shanghai and Nanjing. Changzhou boasts pleasant climate, booming economy, social stability and harmony, convenient transportation and beautiful living environment. It is named as “National Civilized City” and “The Most Innovative City in China”.
学校创建于1984年，是教育部本科教学工作水平评估优秀单位、“服务国家特殊需求人才培养项目”硕士专业学位研究生培养试点单位、全国首批职教师资培训重点建设基地和江苏省首批决策咨询研究基地。学校占地面积近1500亩，现有全日制在校本科生18000多人、硕士研究生近400人，外国留学生160余人，教职工近1500人。开设60个本科专业，在机械工程、环境工程两个领域招收硕士专业学位研究生，形成了以工科为主，多学科协调发展的办学格局。
JSUT was brought into existence in 1984. It was evaluated with the score of Excellence in the undergraduate teaching evaluation implemented by the Ministry of Education. It is also the pilot unit of professional master cultivation for “the Project of Talent Cultivation in the Service of National Special Needs”, one of the first National Key Vocational Education Construction Bases of Teachers Training, and one of the decision-making consultation research bases for the People's Government of Jiangsu Province. JSUT covers an area of 1,500 mu and has over 18,000 full-time undergraduates, nearly 400 postgraduates, over 160 international students and about 1,500 faculty members. JSUT offers 60 undergraduate majors and 2 graduate majors for professional master’s degree in disciplines of Mechanical Engineering and Environment Engineering, which forms a distinct pattern of engineering-oriented and multiple discipline coordinated development.
学校大力实施国际化发展战略，积极引进国际先进办学理念、标准和资源，重点打造以中德合作为主的国际合作办学特色，先后与德国、美国、英国、法国、以色列、日本、韩国、哈萨克斯坦等国家，以及澳门、台湾地区的50余所高校建立了紧密的合作与交流关系。目前面向俄罗斯、摩洛哥、南非、印度尼西亚等“一带一路”沿线20多个国家招收留学生。
JSUT vigorously implements strategy of internationalized development, actively absorbing advanced international educational thoughts, standards and resources. It highlights characteristics of international cooperation and exchange by focusing on the implementation of Sino-German cooperation program and successively establishing cooperation relationship with over 50 universities from Germany, United States, the United Kingdom, South Korea, Ukraine, Israel, Kazakhstan, Macao and Taiwan. Now JSUT enroll international students from over 20 ‘Belt and Road’ countries such as Russia, Morocco, South Africa, Indonesia and etc.
江苏理工学院国际教育学院具体负责外国留学生的招生、管理和培养工作，下设留学生管理办公室，配备专职留学生辅导员，精心管理，竭诚服务，热情帮助。近年来，学校加大留学生教育软硬件建设，建有设施齐全、功能完备的留学生教学楼和公寓楼，着力为留学生创造优美的学习和生活环境。学校面向留学生需求调整专业设置，配强教学师资，完善课程体系，不断提升留学生培养质量。获批省级外国留学生英文授课精品课程1门，留学生在全国大学生英语演讲比赛、江苏省中华经典诵读大赛中多次获奖。
School of International Education of JSUT is specifically responsible for the enrollment, management, and education of international students. It has an International Student Management Office with full-time international student counselor to provide careful management, dedicated service and enthusiastic help. In recent years, JSUT has increased the construction of software and hardware for international student’s education, and has built a well-equipped and full-functioning international student teaching building and apartment building, focusing on creating a beautiful studying and living environment for international students. Based on the needs of international students, the university adjusts major settings, equips with good teachers, improves curriculum system to continuously improves the quality of international students. One provincial-level Excellent English-speaking Course For Foreign Students has been approved. Foreign students have won many awards in the National College Students' English Speech Contest and the Chinese Classical Recital Contest in Jiangsu Province.

In Changzhou, Jiangsu Province, a famous historical and cultural city and an important modern manufacturing base in the Yangtze River Delta, lies a young university with great potential. It is an excellent unit for the evaluation of undergraduate teaching level by the Ministry of Education, a training project for talents with special needs of the country, a pilot unit for the training of postgraduates with master's degrees, the first batch of key construction bases for vocational education teacher training in China, and the first batch of decision-making consultation and research bases in Jiangsu Province, which is Jiangsu University of Technology.
学校创建于1984年，历经常州职业师范学院、江苏技术师范学院等时期，2012年更名为江苏理工学院。在机械工程和环境工程两个专业类别，招收硕士专业学位研究生，形成了“以工科为主，多学科协调发展”的办学格局。结合国家发展战略和区域发展特色，学校打造了职业技术教育、资源循环利用、装备绿色制造等学科亮点。
The university was founded in 1984 and changed its name to “Jiangsu University of Technology” in 2012 after “Changzhou Vocational Normal Univerisity” and “Jiangsu Technical Normal Univerisity”.
现校舍建筑面积近60万平方米，教学仪器设备总值超过三亿元，中外文藏书180余万册。学校现设21个教学，科研单位和多个行业学院和研究院。开设60个本科专业，拥有国家级特色专业2个，国家一流专业1个，江苏省品牌专业2个，省一流专业9个，以及江苏省特色专业7个。
At present, the construction area of the campus is nearly 600,000 square meters, the total value of teaching equipment is more than 300 million yuan, and more than 1.8 million books are collected in Chinese and foreign languages. The university now has 21 teaching and research institutions and a number of industrial colleges and research institutes. There are 60 undergraduate majors, including 2 national characteristic majors, 1 national first-class major, 2 Jiangsu branded majors, 9 provincial first-class majors, and 7 Jiangsu characteristic majors. The university recruits postgraduates with master's degrees in two major categories: mechanical engineering and environmental engineering. The school-running pattern of "giving priority to engineering and coordinated development of multi-disciplines" has been formed. Combining with the national development strategy and regional development characteristics, the university has created the subject highlights, such as "vocational and technical education", "recycling of resources", "green manufacturing of equipment" and so on.

At present, Jiangsu Province has 7 key subjects for cultivation and construction, and 22 scientific research platforms for disciplines above the provincial level, such as national technology transfer centers, national university science and technology parks, provincial engineering and technology research centers, and key construction laboratories of provincial universities.
