University Profile
Jiangxi Agricultural University, a distinctive high-level university, is jointly established by Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, National Forestry and Grassland Administration and People’s Government of Jiangxi Province, with the advantage of agriculture, featuring biotechnology and coordinated multidisciplinary development. The university covers an area of 16,000mu, including 3,975mu for teaching and scientific research land.
The university can be dated back to 1905 when the Jiangxi Industrial School was founded, with the undergraduate education starting from the establishment of the National Zhongzheng University in 1940 and the agricultural vocational education starting from the establishment of Jiangxi Communist Labor University in 1958, having produced over 30 thousand talents in various fields, including outstanding representatives of 6 academicians and 14 provincial and ministerial leaders.
The university currently has 17 schools, with more than 22 thousand full-time students and over 1,800 teaching and administrative staff, including 161 with senior professional title, 436 with vice senior professional title and 517 doctors, among which the staff with doctorate account for 52.7% of full-time teachers. The university also has 1 major discipline supported by National Forestry and Grassland Administration, 4 first-class disciplines in Jiangxi Province, 11 first-class majors in Jiangxi Province; 6 first-level disciplines with doctorate program and 20 first-level disciplines with master’s degree program. Furthermore, the university has founded the first independently-established state key laboratory of pig genetic improvement and production technology, 6 national innovation platforms of ministries and commissions like the key laboratory of Ministry of Education, 5 “2011 collaborative innovation centers” in Jiangxi Province and 28 province-level key laboratories (research centers) and province-level humanities and social science research bases.

Categories of Applicants
(1) Undergraduates (4 years): Foreign students who apply to study for Bachelor’s degree must have had formal schooling of high school level or higher.
(2) Mater’s candidates (3 years): Foreign students who want to apply to study for Master's degree must have obtained Bachelor's Degree or reached the equivalent educational level. (3) Doctoral candidates (4 years): Foreign students who want to apply to study for Doctor's degree must have obtained Mater's Degree or reached the equivalent educational level. (4)Short term language learner (3 months~1 year): Foreign Students who want to study Chinese in the university should be over 16 years old, healthy and with a valid passport.

Short term language learner program: Any time in the year.
Other program: the university has spring semester and fall semester. Spring semester opens in March, fall semester opens in September. Candidates would better to apply the program 4 months in advance.
