Tianjin Light Industry Vocational Technical College (TLIVTC) was established in January 2001, which is a state-owned full-time general institution of higher education. Situated at Tianjin Haihe Education Park, near the coast of Bohai, Tianjin Light Industry Vocational Technical College covers an area of 143 acres, with a gross floor area of 190,000 square meters and more than 10,000 students. It offers 33 higher vocational education diploma programs and 2 joint-cultivating skill-orientated undergraduate programs. The college has three top specialties in China, namely Mold Design and Manufacturing, Photovoltaic Power Generation Technology and Application, and E-commerce; five leading specialties in China, namely Computer Network Technology, Clothing Design and Techniques, Computer Numerical Control Equipment Application and Maintenance, Environmental Art Design, and Marketing; and featured specialties such as Industrial Robot Technology, Cultural Relic Restoration and Protection, and Credit Management. In recent years, the employment rate of graduates from the college is higher than 97%. Graduates of Tianjin Light Industry Vocational Technical College show virtue, abilities, as well as exquisite skills, which have won wide praise from employers.
The college courageously innovates and practices in insisting on the industry- education integration and college-enterprise cooperation for cultivating high-quality skilled talents, actively serving the economic and social development. TLIVTC builds Skilled Talents Reserve Center, Technology and Product Promotion Center, Collaborative Innovation Center and Staff Training Center with enterprises. The college has co-built 11 on-campus training centers with world-famous or industry-leading enterprises such as GF Machining Solution of Switzerland, Carl Zeiss of Germany, Gamesa of Spain, Mitsubishi Elevator, and Yingli of China. It also has 165 practice bases off campus. The college has jointly built the first intelligent manufacturing production line of precision mold in Chinese higher vocational colleges with enterprises and set up a collaborative innovation center. Approved by the Ministry of Education, the college is a construction unit of vocational education cooperation project in the field of industrial robot and a construction unit of modern apprenticeship pilot project. The college has led the establishment of the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Mould Modern Vocational Education Group and the National New Energy Specialty Co-construction and Co-sharing Alliance. It is also a vice president unit of the Vocational Education Group for National Cross-border E-commerce Comprehensive Pilot Zone.
Since 2008, the college has hosted events of Chinese National Vocational Students Skills Competition for 12 consecutive years, presided over the construction of the National New Energy Teaching Resource Library, and won 13 national and municipal teaching achievement awards. The college has been playing an increasingly leading and exemplary role in higher vocational colleges. The college has incorporated innovation and entrepreneurship education into teaching, held innovation and entrepreneurship competition, established TLIVTC Maker Space, built an innovation and entrepreneurship service platform for Tianjin vocational colleges, and provided assistance for the innovation and entrepreneurship of vocational college students. On the basis of National Scholarship, Tianjin Municipal People's Government Scholarship, National Scholarship for Encouragement and National Grants, there are also scholarship and grant provided by the college and seven well-known enterprise scholarships, such as and German Phoenix Scholarship, LG Scholarship, Swiss GF Scholarship and Yingli Scholarship. The college has made remarkable achievements. It is a National Excellent Demonstrative Key Higher Vocational College, High-quality Vocational College, Tianjin "World Advanced Vocational Colleges" Construction Project Unit, Tianjin Advanced Vocational Education Unit, Chinese National Demonstration Vocational College in Employment Competitiveness, and National Excellent Adult Continuing Education Institute. At the same time, it is also a chairman unit of Vocational Education Committee of China Mold Industry Association, a vice chairman unit of National Light Industry Vocational Education Steering Committee, and a vice chairman unit of Tianjin Mold Industry Association. It is one of the first batches of unit in Tianjin to rank among the Chinese Higher Vocational College Service Contribution Top 50. In December 2019, the Ministry of Education and Ministry of Finance issued a document, announcing the college a first round construction unit of "high level vocational colleges and majors with Chinese characteristics construction plan". During the“13th Five-Year Plan” period, the college has deeply promoted industry-education integration and made efforts to better fit and serve the needs of industries and enterprises as well as regional economy. To be eligible for entry as an international student you must fulfill all of the following requirements:

(2) Under 30 years old;
(3) Complete a Chinese or overseas qualification equivalent to Chinese Year 12 (high school) with good academic performance;
(4) In good health condition fit for studying and living in China.

5. After Application
Successful applicants will be sent an Admission Notice and a 202 Form for visa application by our college. Over the years, the college has implemented the strategy of ”Bring In and Going Out” simultaneously. The Department has cooperated with New Zealand, Germany, Switzerland, Sweden, the United Kingdom, Thailand, South Korea, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Vietnam and many other countries in many ways, such as exchanging visits, launching joint education programs, setting up overseas Luban Workshop, establishing overseas teacher training bases, enrolling full-time international students, hosting international forums, hiring foreign experts and teachers, sending teachers to overseas training, introducing courses, sending students on short-term study tours, attracting foreign students to China and cooperating with well-known national and international companies, etc.
Among these projects, the Sino-New Zealand joint program has innovated the mode of internationalization of vocational education, set up a platform for international cooperation and exchange, introduced international quality education resources, and expanded the internationalization of education channels; “Luban Workshop” integrates teaching, practicing, training, competition, technical research and development and display of results, which not only achieves international integration of production and education, but also enables Tianjin’s outstanding achievements of vocational education to go abroad and share with the whole world; Diploma Program for International Students, which was launched since 2017, has 20 international students at present from Vietnam, Thailand, Russia, Yemen, Pakistan and Algeria undertaking full-time study in e-commerce, all of whom have been provided full scholarships.
The college will continually develop international exchanges and cooperation, advance the process of internationalization, show the development and effectiveness of Chinese higher vocational education to the world and expand the international influence of our college and even Tianjin as a vocational educational reform demonstration area.
School of Economics and Management offers 8 majors, including E-Commerce, Business Administration, Big Data and Accounting and so forth. There are 80 full-time and part-time teachers, of whom 20 are full-time teachers with vice-senior professional technical positions or above, 4 are professors, 21 are masters or above, and 2 are doctors. The major of E-Commerce is a high-quality backbone specialty in the project Promotion of Capacity-building for Higher Vocational Colleges in Tianjin in 2016; Business Management is a key construction specialty in National Backbone Colleges; Big Data and Accounting is a key construction specialty in national central finance, as well as the construction major of Tianjin Vocational Education Excellence Creation and Empowerment Project in 2021.
School of Economics and Management has 18 training centers in campus such as the cross-border e-commerce training center, Digital Intelligence Finance and Taxation Training Center, OTO intelligent logistics training center, etc., and 83 off-campus training bases such as National Convention and Exhibition Center (Tianjin) Co., Ltd. and Inspuraccfun Education Technology Co.,Ltd. which can meet the needs of practical teaching in the school. In 2021, students have won 90 awards at all levels of skill competitions. E-commerce used to won the first prize of the China National Vocational College Skills Competition.

The major E-Commerce was established in 2001, a key major of Tianjin Light Industry Vocational Technical College and a key major in the High-Level Demonstration School Project in Tianjin. At present, there are 465 students undertaking this major, 8 full-time teachers, and more than 3,000 graduates making contribution to the society. This major possesses a business operation training room, a cross-border e-commerce training center, an OTO intelligent logistics training center and other training centers in campus with the functions of product picture shooting and graphic editing, e-commerce platform operation, business data analysis, e-commerce logistics supply chain management, etc. It has also cooperated with eBay Group, Tianjin Import Commodity Center Co., Ltd. and other companies to establish 11 off-campus training bases which effectively improve the students’ practical capacity. Students have won the first and second prizes for the “E-Commerce Skills Match” in the Tianjin Municipal and National Professional Skills Contest several times. The professional teachers go out for training and studying many times. They improved their teaching ability continuously, and won the first prize of the “Competition of Class-teaching under International Professional Teaching Standard” among the vocational colleges in Tianjin. Professional teachers have provided consultancy services and technical support for the well-known enterprises in Tianjin, such as Flying Pigeon Bicycle, Jinbin Property, and Tianjin Arts and Crafts Association to serve the regional economic development effectively.
This major has been training high-quality compound technical talents with a certain level of science and culture, good humanistic spirit, professional ethics and innovation awareness, strong employment ability and sustainable development ability; in the professional groups of marketing promotion, operation management, network editing, customer service personnel, etc. in the Internet-related services, wholesale, retail and e-commerce enterprises; who master solid basic theory of e-commerce and knowledge in new technology, new business type, new mode, innovation and entrepreneurship; and who have network information editing, e-commerce data analysis, network marketing, customer service, network Store operation and other skills.
