Ⅰ.General Information

Guizhou Province, located in the southwest of China, is a wonderful place for its beautiful mountains, pleasant climate and colorful ethnic customs. In the northwest of this province, there is a beautiful city ,Bijie, amongst the majestic Wumeng Mountain ranges, there are one hundred li azaleas and Caohai Lake, the home to black-necked crane. It is really Summer paradise.
and right here in the center of this city lies Guizhou University of Engineering Science (GUES). Founded in 1938, GUES has traced a dignified history of more than eighty years .Stationed at the north gate of the university, the sculpture of three standing persons as simulated by Chinese character“人” , embodies the ideal of the university’s education philosophy, i.e. the nurturing of talent teachers and engineers. The university (GUES) covers an area of 87 hectares and has teaching and research instruments worth nearly 100 million yuan RMB. And the university library has a collection of nearly one million paper-back books and has electronic books with content larger than 60T in bytes. The university consists of 14 colleges and provides 49 undergraduate programs, covering 9 branches of learning such as, engineering, administration art and education etc.

At present, GUES has a full-time enrollment of more than 10,000 undergraduates from 24 provinces of China. GUES has been joint training postgraduate master’s degree students with Southwestern University and China Mining University(Beijing) in major of Information Engineering, civil engineering, mechanical engineering and chemical engineering. Now GUES is a master construction units in Guizhou province.There are 14 Scientific Research Institutes in GUES and various level of research projects undertaken by the teachers get high prestige throughout the country.

Since GUES began to enroll international students in 2016, there have been international students from more than 10 countries studying here.

Tuition Fee (free for the first year):

Bachelor of Arts: 14000 RMB per year

Bachelor of Engineering:15400 RMB per year

Short-term projects(3ths):3000 RMB

Language Program(1year):12000RMB

Accommodation Fees:

Four-Beds Rooms: 1500 RMB per year per person( for Famale)

Double Rooms: 3,000 RMB per year per person(for Male)

Other fees:

Insurance expenses :800 RMB per year

Books fee:about 500 RMB per year

Ⅲ.Application Requirements

Applicants must be:

1. 18 to 25 years old

2. Senior high school diploma or equivalent

3. Physically and mentally healthy

4. Non-Chinese citizens.Applicants from mainland China, Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan are required to hold foreign passports or supporting documents valid for more than 4 years and have a record of residential abroad for more than 2 years in the last 4 years (up to 30 April of the year of admission).

5. Have no violation of disciplines, no punishment for public security, and no criminal conduct and record. Comply with Chinese laws and university regulations, and respect Chinese customs and manners.

Language requirement

For Language students:

It is required to prove that high school English proficiency is B or above,  and have good English listening and speaking ability.

For Degree students:

Have HSK 4 or above certification; if applicants do not have any Chinese proficiency, they are required to attend one year of Language Program in GUES to pass HSK 4 before entering major.

From Mar 20th to May 10th (Fall intake)

Ⅴ.Application Procedures

1.Sign up and log in to the Online Application System of the School of Overseas Education to fill in the information and upload the application materials as required: http://gues.at0086.cn/StuApplication/Login.aspx

2.After passing the initial review of online application, you will receive an interview confirmation email and need to pay the application fee. Once the interview time is confirmed, it cannot be modified. After passing the interview, it will be regarded as an official admission.

3.For applicants who have passed the interview, GUES will issue admission letters as well as relevant admission documents including the“Visa Application for Study in China (JW202 Form)”. Applicants are required to apply for the entry visa after receiving the materials, and report to the school before the date specified on your admission letter.

Ⅵ.Application Documents

1.One photocopy of your passport valid for at least 6 months after entry. Applicants applying from China are required to provide a photocopy of the visa page or residence permit page.

2.Official Transcripts of your senior high school (including all courses taken in senior high school).

3.Senior high school diploma.

4.Certification of language proficiency (Chinese or English), and must be the original copy or a notarized copy. Documents in languages other than Chinese or English must be attached with notarized translations in Chinese o English.

5.Original photocopy of FOREIGNER PHYSICAL EXAMINATION FORM. Applicants can download the form from the website of our school and then go to the designated hospital in your host country for physical examination. The results are valid for 6 months.

6.Bank statements covering at least the last six months'records.

*All certification materials must be original or notarized. You are required to provide the notarized translation for documents not originally in Chinese or English.

*Please pay attention to the status of your online application.Upon passing the initial review, please download the International Student Application Form for Guizhou University of Engineering Science signed by the applicant. The form must be handed in to our staffupon your arrival at GUES.

*If necessary, GUES will ask the applicant to submit additional materials. Applicant can also look through the website of our school or contact us to confirm the required materials. The above materials and application fee are not returned under any circumstance, regardless of the admission decision.

Ⅶ.Interview

After passing the initial review, an interview will be arranged, content including comprehensive interview and Chinese proficiency interview, applicant can choose to have the interview online, or show themselves to school.

Ⅷ.Admission and Registration

1.Admission criteria:

Admission will be determined according to candidates’application materials and interview performances.

2. Admission Schedule:

Admission results will be published at the end of July on our website. Admission notice and related materials will be issued by July for year of 2021, the schedule might be delayed due to the COVID-19 epidemic.

After receiving all the materials you need (Admission Notice and JW202 form), please bring them along with FOREIGNER PHYSICAL EXAMINATION FORM and your passport to the Embassy of China for visa application.

3.Registration:

New students must report in person at GUES according to the time specified in the Admission Letter. Please bring the original Admission Notice, JW202 Form, and all original and photocopies of application materials for registration.

GUES provides accommodation of different specifications and conditions, such as double rooms and four-person rooms, quipped with a kitchen with refrigerator and cookers, apartment with washing machine, internet, and private bathroom.
