About Guizhou Normal University

       贵州师范大学，其前身“国立贵阳师范学院”创立于1941年，当时是全国八所国立师范学院之一。学校历经多次更名与调整，最终于1985年定名为“贵州师范大学”。作为贵州省的省属重点大学，该校于1996年获得此地位，并在党的十八大以来稳步发展，于2015年成为教育部与贵州省人民政府共建高校。

Guizhou Normal University Introduction

       Guizhou Normal University, with its predecessor "National Guiyang Normal College," was founded in 1941, making it one of the eight national normal colleges in China at that time. The university has undergone several name changes and adjustments, finally being renamed "Guizhou Normal University" in 1985. As a provincial key university in Guizhou Province, it gained this status in 1996 and has steadily developed since the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, becoming a university jointly constructed by the Ministry of Education and the Guizhou Provincial People's Government in 2015.

荣誉与成就

       学校荣获多项国家级和省级荣誉，包括“全国文明单位”、“全国文明校园”等。在教育领域，学校拥有博士学位授权单位和博士后科研流动站（涵盖中国语言文学、马克思主义理论、数学等）。同时，学校也是国家级首批深化创新创业教育改革示范高校，并入选教育部/国家外专局“111计划”。

Honors and Achievements

      The university has received numerous national and provincial honors, including "National Civilized Unit" and "National Civilized Campus." In the field of education, it possesses doctoral degree authorization units and postdoctoral research stations (covering Chinese Language and Literature, Marxist Theory, Mathematics, etc.). Additionally, it is a national demonstration university for deepening the reform of innovation and entrepreneurship education in the first batch and is included in the "111 Plan" of the Ministry of Education and the State Administration of Foreign Experts Affairs.

校园规模与师资

       学校占地面积约2690亩，设有26个学院及1所继续教育学院。拥有全日制在校学生近3.4万人，教职工总数达到2553人，其中博士学位持有者856人，教授326人，副教授641人。此外，还有多位享受国家级和省级人才计划支持的专家学者。

Campus Size and Faculty

       The university covers an area of approximately 2690 acres and comprises 26 colleges and one continuing education college. It has nearly 34,000 full-time students and a total of 2,553 faculty members, among which 856 hold doctoral degrees, 326 are professors, and 641 are associate professors. Furthermore, there are numerous experts and scholars supported by national and provincial talent programs.

       贵州师范大学学科专业门类齐全，覆盖哲学、文学、教育学、工学、理学等11个学科门类。拥有多个省级和国家级一流建设学科，以及博士学位和硕士学位授权点。本科招生专业丰富，包括56个“双万计划”一流专业。

Disciplines and Majors

       Guizhou Normal University boasts a comprehensive range of disciplines and majors, covering 11 disciplines such as philosophy, literature, education, engineering, and science. It possesses multiple provincial and national first-class construction disciplines, as well as doctoral and master's degree authorization points. The university offers a rich variety of undergraduate majors, including 56 "Double Ten Thousand Plan" first-class majors.

       学校教育资源丰富，拥有国家级教师研修基地、国家级科研平台等多个国家级和省级基地与实验室。同时，积极与国际接轨，与美国、加拿大等多个国家的大学及科研机构建立合作与交流关系。

Educational Resources and Research Platforms

       The university is rich in educational resources, boasting national teacher training bases, national research platforms, and various national and provincial bases and laboratories. Simultaneously, it actively engages in international cooperation, establishing long-term cooperation and exchange relationships with universities and research institutions in the United States, Canada, and other countries.

       贵州师范大学坚持开放办学，不仅承担中国政府奖学金培养任务，还与国外高校合作举办中外合作办学项目，如与美国中央俄克拉荷马大学合办音乐学专业等，致力于提升国际化教育水平。

International Exchange and Cooperation

       Guizhou Normal University adheres to an open approach to education. It not only undertakes the task of cultivating students with Chinese Government Scholarships but also cooperates with foreign universities to offer Sino-foreign cooperative education programs, such as the music major jointly offered with the University of Central Oklahoma in the United States, striving to enhance its international education level.

History and Contributions

       After more than 80 years of development, Guizhou Normal University has taken the cultivation of outstanding talents as its mission, making positive contributions to the economic and social development of Guizhou and even the whole country. Today, it has become a comprehensive normal university with distinctive teacher education characteristics and coordinated development across multiple disciplines.
