Qingdao University is situated in the eastern seaside city of Qingdao, China, between the coast of the Yellow Sea and Mount Fushan. Qingdao University is surrounded by a beautiful surroundings of which the rich local culture is blended with the spirit of the times. 

Qingdao University was founded in 1909. In 1993, the former Qingdao University merged with the Qingdao Medical College and Shandong Textile & Engineering College. Many years of continuous development have shaped Qingdao University to be an honorable and comprehensive university with complete disciplines and excellent facilities. This Qingdao University ranks among the top institutions in the Shandong province.

The university has 36 colleges and 101 undergraduate majors, covering 11 major disciplines including literature, art, history, philosophy, science, engineering, medicine, economics, management, law and education. There are 8 post-doctoral mobile stations; There are 13 first-level doctoral programs and 2 professional doctoral programs (covering 18 professional fields); 37 first-level master's degree programs, 23 professional master's degree programs (covering 81 professional fields) . Qingdao University is an authorized Education Center of Chinese Language and Culture, HSK Test Center and DaF Test Center. Currently the enrollment of our university totals over 46,000 students, of whom over 10,600 are postgraduates and over 1,700 are international students. 

Qingdao University’s has planned a goal to maintain a high standard of modern management with international standards and high tech infrastructure , the university has been experiencing a fast and steady development in international exchange and cooperation. It has established more than 200 exchange and cooperation projects with over 170 universities and institutions in more than 20 countries and regions, including the United States, the United Kingdom, Germany, Russia, Canada, Australia, Japan, South Korea and Singapore. It has realized the substantial cooperation such as the exchange of teachers and students and joint training with foreign colleges and universities.

Scholarship Opportunities

Chinese Government Scholarship –Type B(CSC)
Application period: January to March every year
Enrollment: Autumn semester 
Application procedure: 1）Applicants should log on to http://laihua.csc.edu.cn/inscholarship/jsp/student/StudentLogin.jsp to create an individual account and fill in the application form online.2） Please log in the foreign student application system of Qingdao university within the registration opening time: http://istudy.qdu.edu.cn/ register and truthfully fill in the information online.Website for Reference: http://www.csc.edu.cn/Laihua

Scholarship covers: tuition fee, accommodation fee on campus, registration fee, medical insurance for foreign students studying in China and living allowance.

Note: Type A of CSC should be submitted to Chinese Embassy or Consulate overseas.

International Chinese Language Teachers Scholarship

Application period: Spring semester every year
Enrollment: Autumn semester
Application procedure: 1）Applicants should log on to the Confucius Institute Scholarship website at http://cis.chinese.cn, complete and submit the Confucius Institute Scholarship Application online, print out the form and submit it to their recommending institution along with other application materials. 2) Please log in the foreign student application system of Qingdao university within the registration opening time: http://istudy.qdu.edu.cn/ register and truthfully fill in the information online.
Recommendation agencies: Confucius Institutes (independently set-up Confucius Classrooms), overseas Chinese test centers, educational and cultural offices (sections) of Chinese embassies (consulates), host institutes and institutions of higher education in those countries with no Confucius Institutes are entrusted by Hanban as the recommending institutions.
Scholarship covers: tuition fees, registration fees, accommodation fees on campus, basic learning materials, medical insurance for foreign students studying in China and living allowance.

Shandong Provincial & Qingdao Government Scholarship
Application period: Spring semester every year for Degree-seeking,
                Fall semester every year for Non Degree-Seeking
Enrollment: Autumn semester & Spring semester

President Scholarship
