Anhui University, located at Hefei—the beautiful capital of Anhui Province，is one of  the developing higher institutions supported by the government under the State “Double Word-Class” institutions and “211 Project”. It is a key comprehensive provincial institution of Anhui Province co-constructed by Ministry of Education of China and Anhui Provincial Government.

Founded in 1928 in Anqing and moved to Hefei in 1958, Anhui University covers 4 campuses of about 207 hectares. Besides its beautiful scenery and modern facilities, Anhui University has a collection of more than 3.5 million books and over 7,000 Chinese and foreign periodicals. Anhui University consists of 26 schools (departments), 101 undergraduate specialties, 148 master degree programs, 48 PhD. programs, and 13 Postdoctoral Research Stations.

The University has a teaching staff of 1800, among whom more than 900 are professors or associate professors. The student population totals more than 33,000, among whom 24700 are undergraduate students and 8200 are postgraduate students.  

The university attaches great importance to the international exchange and cooperation. Now, it has entered into agreements with 147 overseas institutions. Anhui University began to accept foreign students in 1981. It is  authorized by the Ministry of Education to enroll international students who enjoy Chinese government’s scholarships. It was designated by Overseas Chinese Affairs Office under the State council the Teaching Base for Chinese Language and Culture in 2000. It was also recognized by Ministry of China as Demonstration Base of Foreign Students Education in 2014. It has successfully passed the Quality Certificate for Study in China in 2017.It is appointed as Confucius Institute Teacher Training Base of Anhui Province in 2018. It is the host university of Chinese Government Scholarship, International Chinese Language Teachers (Confucius Institute) Scholarship, Anhui Provincial Government Scholarship, Hefei Municipal Government Scholarship and Anhui University Scholarship.

At present, students from more than 80 countries are studying in Anhui University.

International students are warmly welcomed to study and conduct research at Anhui University! 

Anhui University provides dormitories(double room and single room) with independent toilets, public kichtens and public laundry room. Students can reserve dormitories before arrival.

Admission process:

1.Submitting application documents (hard copy or soft copy);

2.Paying the 400 yuan application fee(non-refundable);

3.Waiting for the admission result. Usually it takes 4-5 weeks to process the documents;

4. Claiming visa documents;

5. Applying for student visa(X1 or X2) to Chinese Embassy;

6. Arriving at AHU according to the date given in the Admission Notice. Any delay in registration should get the approval from AHU.
