Beijing University of Civil Engineering and Architecture (BUCEA) is the only architecture-oriented institute of higher education in Beijing. Jointly sponsored by the People’s Government of Beijing Municipality and the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development of China, BUCEA has a total of 10,845 enrolled students, including 7,713 full-time undergraduates, 2,318 graduate students, 56 PhD students, 766 adult education students, and 132 international students. BUCEA has been equipped with about 500 professors, including Yangtze River Scholar, talent with the title of “Top 100 Leading Personnel for High-tech Beijing” and Great Wall Scholar. At present, there are 6 national-level first-class professional construction majors, 3 national-level characteristic majors, 2 key construction first-class majors, 3 Beijing-level first-rate professional construction majors, and 7 Beijing characteristic majors. In addition, BUCEA now boasts 26 ministerial-and provincial-level laboratories and Beijing Advanced Innovation Center for Future Urban Design. BUCEA has evolved into “Beijing Talents Training and Scientific Service Base for Urban Planning, Construction and Management”, “Beijing Research and Talent Training Base for Climate Change Studies”, “National Research and Talent Training Base for Architectural Heritage Protection” and “Belt and Road Architectural University International Consortium (BRAUIC). All undergraduate and graduate programs of BUCEA are open to international students and BUCEA provides “Overseas Students Scholarship of Beijing Municipal Government”, “Road and Belt Scholarship” and “Belt and Road National Talent Development Scholarship”to outstanding students.
Learning Environment
The school is composed of two campuses, Xicheng and Daxing.Xicheng campus covers an area of 123,000 square meters, and Daxing campus covers an area of 501,000 square meters; the total school building area is 488,000 square meters. At present, the construction of the two campuses is being accelerated in accordance with the “two highs” layout goal which means “Build Daxing campus to a high-quality undergraduate talent training base, Xicheng campus to a high-level graduate training, scientific and technological collaborative innovation and achievement transformation base”.
Living Environment
We have modern teaching buildings, libraries, art galleries and a fully functional stadium, gymnasium and swimming pool, and canteens and restaurants that serve different tastes of food, campus supermarkets, self-service banks, hairdressers, clinics and so on.
International Students’ Apartment
In both Xicheng and Daxing campuses, there are university accommodations for international students: 3# International Student Apartment in Xicheng campus and Master/Doctor Apartment in Daxing campus, with public kitchen, dining room, laundry room and so on. Desk, wardrobe, air-conditioning, separate toilet and shower are equipped in the dormitory for international students.
Xicheng campus is located near the West Second Ring Road of Beijing, and with supermarkets, hospitals, shopping malls, fitness centers, basketball halls, cinemas and playgrounds within 2km around it. Life in Xicheng campus is very convenient. There are bus stops at the school gate, with nearly 5 bus lines passing by, and a subway station 200 meters away. The transportation is very convenient for international students to travel.

Scholarships:
There are the following 4 types of scholarships. Except for the Freshman Scholarships, the other three scholarships will be reviewed once a year from the second year of enrollment, and eligible students can apply directly.
1. Freshman Scholarships : to subsidize all tuition fees for the first academic year.
2. First-class Scholarships: to subsidize all tuition fees for one academic year.
3. Second-class Scholarships: to subsidize half of the tuition fees for one academic year.
4. Special Contribution Scholarships: It is used to reward international students who have made outstanding achievements in academic, sports, art, cultural exchanges, and public welfare activities. The amount of subsidy does not exceed 5,000 yuan per person per academic year.
Scholarship applicants must abide by the law, respect teachers, have good moral character, study diligently, unite with classmates, actively participate in group activities, attend the classes on time and complete all the credits of the courses required for the previous academic year with good grades. What’s more, applicants should have paid all tuition fees and meet the requirements of other relevant rules and regulations.
The International Student Scholarships Jury will adhere to the principles of standardization, objectivity and fairness to select scholarship applicants.
