Changchun University of Technology (CCUT), founded in 1952, is a key provincial university of Jilin Province. It is a multi-disciplinary university with engineering as its key discipline, engineering, management, art, science, economics, law, education and other disciplines supporting each other. It is the base for cultivation of high-level talent, research on applied technology, development of high-tech products and provision of high-level social services.

 CCUT was originally named Changchun Academy of Automobile Technology when she was first founded for the establishment of the First Automobile Works. In 1992, CCUT became one of the first three key universities of Jilin Province. In 2004, the university ranked at the top level in the National Higher Education Assessment for Undergraduate Teaching. In 2014, CCUT, as the first provincial university of the first group, passed the National Higher Education Assessment for Undergraduate Teaching, winning high reputation.

At present, CCUT has three campuses including Nanhu Campus, Linyuan Campus and Beihu Campus. There are 21098 full-time students and 1744 faculty and staff members, among which there are 191 professors, 84 doctoral supervisors and 563 master’s supervisors. CCUT consists of 15 schools, 2 teaching and research departments, offering 5 first-level doctoral programs, 20 first-level graduate programs and 53 undergraduate programs. More than 170,000 students have graduated from Changchun university of Technology since the establishment.  

CCUT adheres to the aim of serving local economy and social development to cultivate talent, conduct scientific and technological research and serve the society with the supports from important enterprises and newly developed high-technique enterprises, such as FAW, Changchun Railway Vehicles Co., Ltd and Jilin Petrochemical Company. In recent years, we have been grasping the opportunity of revitalizing the old industrial base and taking the advantage of our own specialty of engineering and talent to comprehensively integrate and upgrade innovative competence and service level. CCUT has taken more than 1900 scientific research projects in the past six years, 83 involved in National Natural Science Foundation projects, 6 in National Social Science Foundation projects, 1 in National Important Science and Technology Project and 2 in National Art Foundation projects, with the total scientific research funds of 300 million CNY. Our University got 142 items of scientific awards in different fields, including 9 first prizes and 31 second prizes in “Award for Scientific and Technological Advancement”, with 161 national invention patents and more than 840 published SCI, EI and CSSCI retrieval articles. 

 CCUT is one of the first universities initially authorized by the Ministry of Education to admit foreign students and send exchanged students and scholars to conduct scientific research by building cooperative relationships with universities, institutes and enterprises in foreign countries, such as Britain, America, Japan, South Korea, Russia and so on. We have organized joint undergraduate programs by cooperating with American Oakland University and Portland State University.

   Apart from emphasizing teaching affairs and scientific research, our university also puts stress on cultivating students’ comprehensive qualities and creating cultural atmosphere on campus, with different kinds of scientific, technological, recreational and sports activities held by students’ societies.
