A. Chinese Government Scholarship

Jilin University is one of the key research universities under the direct aegis of the Education Ministry of China. The university ranks among the top 10 in China and top 500 in the world. It is the largest university in China. Jilin University is entrusted by the Education Ministry of China as one of the institutions to award Chinese Government Scholarships to international students. The university sincerely welcomes all outstanding international students to come to JLU, pursue their education and conduct research work.

Basically, the courses offered by Jilin University will be taught in Chinese language. For students who have no or insufficient proficiency in Chinese language, remedial Chinese language studies for 1-2 years will be arranged before their major studies. Please note the duration of scholarships, specified at the time of admission, shall NOT be extended. Some courses can be taught in English, and students will start to major directly after coming to university.

B. International Chinese Language Teachers (Confucius Institute) Scholarship

With aims to cultivate qualified Chinese language teachers and facilitate the understanding of Chinese culture, Confucius Institute Scholarship (CIS) has been launched by the Confucius Institute headquarters/Hanban (NOCFL) for outstanding international students and in-service Chinese language teachers abroad to study in the universities in China. This scholarship is generally provided for applicants seeking a master’s in Teaching Chinese to Speakers of Other Languages or a bachelor's in Teaching Chinese to Speakers of Other Languages. It can be provided for one-academic year study, one-semester study, or four-week study.

At the beginning of each year, the Confucius Institute headquarters/Hanban releases the admission notice of Confucius Institute Scholarship. Applicants must reach the required scores of the corresponding level of HSK and HSKK tests before they apply to the Confucius Institutes, independent Confucius Classrooms, or some Chinese language test centers in their home countries for the scholarship. The application time is usually from February to April every year. C. "Golden Bean" International Students Scholarship (Sponsorship) of Jilin University

The “Golden Bean” International Students Scholarship (Sponsorship) of Jilin University is the Scholarship (Sponsorship) set up for international students by Jilin Province Golden Bean Industrial Group co., Ltd. in our school. It aims to award international students with excellent character and academic performance and encourage them to make contribution to the friendly exchanges between their home countries and China (reviewed in November each year).

D. College of International Education Scholarship (Sponsorship) of Jilin University

College of International Education Scholarship (Sponsorship) of Jilin University is sponsored by well-known enterprises, social foundations and friendly people from home and abroad. It aims to award international students who are excellent in both character and learning and encourage them to study hard and make continuous progresses. At the same time, it provides help to those self-sponsored international students in financial difficulties (reviewed in November each year).
