Founded in 1950, Chongqing University of Posts and Telecommunications (CQUPT) is a post-telecom university deployed and constructed emphatically by Chinese government. With the full sponsorship from MIIT (Ministry of Industry and Information Technology) and Chongqing Municipality, the university is a multidisciplinary teaching and research institution that plays a leading role in the field of information communication. The university is located in Chongqing city, southwest of China. Within 70 years, CQUPT has cultivated over 130,000 specialists in a variety of fields, and has won national technology innovation awards in the field of information industry and is the national model base of advanced technology industrialization. The university is recognized as the Cradle of Information Technology Specialists and the birthplace of digital communication in China.
The university has five halls of residence for international students, giving international students a safe and comfortable base. The five halls of residence are all located on campus and all international students are guaranteed accommodation. Residences have good public transport connections, whether traveling by bus or taxi. The campus is surrounded by many of Chongqing’s key attractions, such as Nan Shan tourist resort, the largest hot-pot street in the world and Night-view tower. Nan Shan shopping center and market is just 5 minute walk away where offer retails and banking opportunities.
