百年老校、历史悠久

贵州大学成立于1902年，办学历史悠久。1997年8月，与贵州农学院等院校合并。2004年8月，与贵州工业大学合并。2004年12月，成为教育部与贵州省人民政府共建高校。2005年9月，成为国家“211工程”大学。2012年9月，成为国家“中西部高校综合实力提升工程”入选高校。2016年4月，成为中西部“一省一校”国家重点建设高校。2017年9月，成为国家世界一流学科建设高校。2017年11月，获首届“全国文明校园”。2018年2月，成为教育部、贵州省人民政府“部省合建”高校。2019年1月，入选教育部“三全育人”综合改革试点单位。

A Centennial University

Guizhou University (GZU), ——a centennial university, originally established in 1902. In August 1997, it merged with Guizhou Agricultural College and some other institutions. In August 2004, it merged with Guizhou University of Technology. In December 2004, it became one of the higher institutions partially funded by the Ministry of Education and the Guizhou Provincial People's Government. In September 2005, it was listed as one of China's '211 Project' universities. In September 2012, it was recognized as one of the 14 universities in the "Midwest Universities Comprehensive Strength Promotion Project". In April 2016, it was listed as a national-level key sponsored university in the "One Province, One School" project in the Midwest of China. In September 2017, GZU was included in the national "Double First-Class" Initiative to develop world-class disciplines. In November 2017, the university was awarded its first "National Civilized Campus" title. In February 2018, GZU became a higher institution that is to be jointly developed via ministerial-provincial cooperation. In January 2019, GZU was listed by MOE as a pilot for the comprehensive reform of the "All-round Development and Education".

      学校占地面积4646亩，图书馆现有馆藏纸质文献381万余册，电子图书240万余册。学校学科门类齐全，涵盖文学、历史学、哲学、理学、工学、农学、医学、经济学、管理学、法学、教育学及艺术学12类。下设40个学院，在校全日制本科生34188人，研究生12202人；在职职工4022人，其中专任教师2676人。

The University covers an area of 362.22 hectares. Its library has a collection of more than 3.81 million paper documents, including more than 2.4 million electronic books. The University offers a wide range of courses for 12 major disciplines such as literature, history, philosophy, science, engineering, agronomy, medicine, economics, management, law, education and art. GZU has 40 colleges, with 34188 full-time undergraduate students and 12,202 graduate students. It is home to 4,022 faculty and staff members, including 2,676 full-time teachers.

学校现有世界一流建设学科1个、国家级重点学科1个、国内一流建设学科9个、区域一流建设学科7个、一级学科博士学位授权点17个、一级学科硕士学位授权点52个以及专业硕士学位授权点24个。

GZU has 1 discipline selected for China's "Double First Class" Initiative, 1 national-level key discipline, 9 national first-class disciplines and 7 regional first-class disciplines. Currently, there are 17 first-level discipline doctoral programs, 52 first-level master's degree programs, and 24 professional master's degree programs.

国际交流与合作广泛

贵州大学注重国际交流与合作办学，与40多个国家和地区的150余所高校或研究机构建立了交流与合作关系，是教育部教育援外基地、科技部国际科技合作基地、中国政府奖学金院校、孔子学院奖学金院校，2009年在美国普莱斯比学院建立了孔子学院，2017年与冈比亚大学共建孔子学院。此外，学校在SEAMEO（东南亚教育部长组织）、AUN（东盟大学联盟）、EPU（欧亚太平洋学术协会）等国际组织中发挥了积极作用。2008年以来，学校主办、承办、协办了13届“中国—东盟教育交流周”系列活动。

Extensive International Exchange and Cooperation

GZU, committed to international exchanges and collaborative education, has established long-standing relationships for exchanges and cooperation with more than 150 universities or research institutions across more than 40 countries and regions. It has been approved to be the International Education Aid Base by the Ministry of Education (MOE), International Science & Technology Cooperation Base under the Ministry of Science and Technology,the institution offering Chinese Government Scholarship, and the institution offering Confucius Institute Scholarship.GZU has two Confucius Institutes, one co-built with the Presbyterian College in the United States in 2009, and the other co-founded with the University of the Gambia in 2017. Furthermore, the University has been actively engaged in international associations such as the SEAMEO(Southeast Asian Ministers of Education Organization), AUN(ASEAN University Network) and EPU (Eurasia-Pacific Uninet). Since 2008, GZU has hosted and co-organized“China-ASEAN Education Cooperation Week”together with other related activities for 13 consecutive years.

课程建设齐备、师资力量雄厚

贵州大学来华留学生教育始于 20世纪80年代后期，为留学生提供长短期汉语进修，以及本科、硕士和博士层次的学历教育。国际教育学院作为贵州大学留学生招生、管理和汉语教育的专门机构，拥有一支教学经验丰厚、学历结构分布合理的教师队伍，为留学生开设零基础、初级、中级、高级四个层次的汉语及中国文化课程，并组织形式多样的课外活动及文化体验，让留学生在学习之余能充分体验中国文化和贵州少数民族文化及人文风情。

Comprehensive Curriculum and Excellent Faculty

GZU has been accepting international students since late 1980s, and offering long and short term Chinese language courses, undergraduate, master's and doctoral programs for international students. The College of International Education  (hereinafter as CIE) of GZU, a specialized institution is responsible for international students recruitment, daily management and Chinese language teaching, boasting a team of highly skillful and experienced teachers and an efficient course system. CIE offers structured Chinese language courses and various characteristic culture courses to international students at beginner, basic, intermediate and advanced levels. Besides, the College organizes regular extracurricular activities to immerse international students in Chinese culture and Guizhou ethnic minority cultures.
