Founded in 1946, NENU was selected as one of the first group of universities given priority in construction in the '211 Project'. NENU is located in Changchun city, the “City of Eternal Spring”, whose enchanting landscape occupies a total area of 1,670,000 square meters. And in 2004, NENU was approved to establish the graduate school by the Ministry of Education. There are 26,201 full-time students, including 14,380 bachelor degree students, 10,945 Master and Doctoral degree candidates and 876 international students. NENU has two campuses, comprising 23 schools, 78 undergraduate specialties, 185 Master degree majors and 75 Doctoral degree majors. In all, NENU has all the 11 disciplines except for Military Science and Medicine.Six disciplines of NENU, Marxism, world history, mathematics, chemistry, statistics, materials science and engineering, have been selected into the 'Double First-rate' construction disciplines in 2017.

Every room has a private bathe room and it is equipped with TV, air conditioner, water heater, bed, desk, chair and wardrobe. Every floor has a kitchen and washing machines. There is free Wi-Fi in the apartment.

Northeast Normal University Chinese Government Scholarship

From 2005, Northeast Normal University have collaborated with China Scholarship Council and started to enroll Chinese Government Scholarship students. In 2010, NENU became one of ten Preparatory Education Bases designated by China Scholarship Council. Till now, NENU has seven English taught programs in Education, Life Sciences, Chemistry, Environmental Sciences, Economics, Geography and Psychology. Every year, more than 700 CSC students from all over the world study at NENU.

Northeast Normal University Confucius Institute Scholarship
Northeast Normal University has always attached great importance to the work of Confucius Institute. With the help of CLEL, since 2006 we have established Confucius Institute at Dong-A University in Korean, Confucius Institute at Valencia University in Spain, Confucius Institute at Seneca College in Canada and Confucius Institute at Mongolian State University of Education, NENU have enrolled Confucius Scholarship students from 2009. Now NENU can enroll scholarship students of Master’s Degree in Teaching Chinese to Speakers of Other Languages, Bachelor’s Degree in Teaching Chinese to Speakers of Other Languages and one year/semester study.
