On-campus Accommodation

    The International Student Dormitory of Beijing University of Technology provides different types of dormitory rooms to the international students. Included in each room are bedclothes, air-condition, TV set, internet access and furniture. The apartments have the capacity of accommodating over 600 international students.

    Because the number of on-campus apartment rooms is limited and cannot meet the demand of all students living on campus, it is recommended that students who have received Admission Notice of Beijing University of Technology book the rooms in advance, following the date, time and procedure specified in the Instructions of International Student Dormitory Application System of Beijing University of Technology which is sent out by CIE to you together with the admission package. Off-campus Accommodation
 

    If you do not successfully book a room in the on-campus apartments, you need to arrange off-campus accommodation also in advance. We are sorry that the University is currently not able to officially recommend off-campus housing information and housing agencies for off-campus accommodations. You may also ask for help from your Chinese Buddies or friends already living in Beijing. Please be careful when signing the contract or lease, there may be hidden clauses.

    When you live off campus, never forget to get a Registration Form of Temporary Residence issued by the local police for your accommodation. Within 24 hours after you move in, please send your passport to the nearest local police station together with your landlord or the authorized agency for the registration. The Registration Form of Temporary Residence is another important document for your legal stay in China aside your passport and visa. Please keep it along with your passport. It is required for your application for a new visa, visa extension, additional entry or residence permit.

    You are therefore reminded that, before you sign the contract or pay the rent, do confirm that the owner of the apartment/house is able to process the accommodation registration for you; otherwise you will get into the trouble of illegal stay. Moreover, you need to renew the Temporary Residence Permit anytime you change your residence, change your passport or renew your visa.

Scholarship
1. Full scholarship
Eligibility: PhD
Funded by Chinese government
Coverage: tuition, accommodation, medical insurance, living expenses 
2. Partial Scholarship
Eligibility: undergraduate, master
Funded by Beijing municipal government

a. Undergraduate: In the first academic year, the scholarship is awarded in full amount of tuition. From the second academic year, the scholarship is applied  annually and awarded according to student’s previous academic records and school performance. The scholarship includes full amount of tuition, half amount of tuition and no tuition.

b. Master: The scholarship is awarded in full amount of tuition for the whole period of postgraduate studies (Master in Chinese will be funded for up to 3 years. Master in English will be funded for up to 2 years).

Non-degree Programs

Tuition Fee:
Pre-university program: 21,000 yuan/year
CLT and CCBC: 10,500 yuan/semester
EPIS: 15,000 yuan/semester
