Building on a history of over 110 years, Nanjing Agricultural University (NAU) is a pioneer of modern agricultural education, research and extension work, and from 1914, the first institution in China to offer four-year bachelor programs in agricultural disciplines.
Today’s NAU is a multi-disciplinary, national key university under the administration of the Ministry of Education and has been selected into the national “double first-class” initiative in 2017 (“world-class university” and “world-class discipline”, a new initiative for the development of China’s higher education sector). With agriculture and life sciences as its traditional core strength, Nanjing Agricultural University has diverse branches of learning, including Science, Economics, Management, Engineering, Law and the Arts.
The recent analysis of research citations by Thomson Reuters Essential Science Indicators found NAU among the top 1% of institutions in the fields of Environment/Ecology, Biology and Bio-chemistry, Engineering, Microbiology, Molecular Biology and Genetics, and chemistry and the top 1‰ of institutions in the fields of Agricultural Science and Plant and Animal Science. NAU ranks 9th in the latest ranking of “Best Global Universities for Agricultural Sciences” by US News & World Report in 2018.
NAU is also home to seven national research platforms, including the State Key Laboratory of Crop Genetics and Germplasm Enhancement. NAU maintains close cooperation and exchanges with more than 160 universities and research institutions in more than 30 countries and regions, and has established several international joint laboratories and research platforms with overseas partners. Doctoral Degree Programs:1.Certificate of a Master Degree in a Related Major;2. Good Academic Performance;3.Good Health;4.Under Age 40;
General Scholar Program:1.Certificate of an Advanced Diploma/Equivalent;2.Under the Age of 45.
Senior Scholar Program:1.Certificate of a Master Degree/an Associate Professorship;2.Under the Age of 50.
2. Languages
Chinese Language: 1. HSK Level 5 is Mandatory for Undergraduate Program applicants; Note: Certain Graduate Programs may request mandatory HSK level
English Language: 1. From English-speaking country (or) 2. With 1 year or above discipline-relevant experience in English-speaking countries (or) 3. Certificate of IELTS > 6 TOFEL > 70

No.2 Visa Application Form: In Chinese / English
No.3 Notarized CERTIFICATE of Highest Degree/Diploma Achieved. ：1.Prospective diploma recipients must submit official document issued by your current school to prove your current student status or expected graduation date. 2.Documents in languages other than Chinese or English must be attached with notarized Chinese or English translations.
No.4 Notarized Academic TRANSCRIPTS of Highest Education Achieved. 1.In Chinese / English; 2. Transcripts in languages other than Chinese or English must be attached with notarized Chinese or English translations.
No.5 Constructive STUDY/ RESEARCH PLAN.1. In Chinese / English;2. This should be a minimum of 800 words;
No.6 Two Recommendation Letters.1. MANDATORY for Postgraduate Degree/Non-Degree Program Applicants;2. In Chinese / English;3. MUST be written by Professors/Associate Professors.
No.7 Acceptance letters from NAU Supervisors. MANDATORY for Postgraduate Degree/Non-Degree Program Applicants.
No.8 Photocopy of Foreigner Physical Examination Form. 1. CAN ONLY be issued and printed by the Chinese Quarantine Authority. 2. Filled in English/Chinese. 3. Strictly complete the entire examination with proper signature from medical professionals. 4. Limited Validity Period: six months( A good planning on examination reservations is advised)
