Wuhan University (WHU) is a comprehensive and key national university directly under the administration of the Ministry of Education. It is also one of the "211 Project" and "985 Project"universities with full support in the construction and development from the central and local government of China.
The history of Wuhan University can be traced back to Ziqiang Institute, which was founded in 1893 by Zhang Zhidong, the then governor of Hubei Province and Hunan Province in the late Qing Dynasty. In the process of development and evolution, the institute changed its name several times before it was finally named Wuhan National University in 1928. It is one of the earliest comprehensive national universities in modern China. By the end of 1946, the university had established 6 colleges, the colleges of liberal art, law, sciences, engineering, agriculture and medicine. In 2000, an amalgamation of the former Wuhan University, Wuhan University of Hydraulic and Electric Engineering, Wuhan Technical University of Surveying and Mapping, and Hubei Medical University was announced, which ushered in a new era in its 100-odd years of development.

武汉大学溯源于1893年清末湖广总督张之洞奏请清政府创办的自强学堂，历经传承演变，1928年定名为国立武汉大学，是近代中国第一批国立大学。1946年，学校已形成文、法、理、工、农、医6大学院并驾齐驱的办学格局。新中国成立后，武汉大学受到党和政府的高度重视。1958年，毛泽东主席亲临武大视察。1993年，武汉大学百年校庆之际，江泽民等党和国家领导人题词祝贺。改革开放以来，武汉大学在国内高校中率先进行教育教学改革，各项事业蓬勃发展，整体实力明显上升。1999年，世界权威期刊《Science》杂志将武汉大学列为“中国最杰出的大学之一”。2000年，武汉大学与武汉水利电力大学、武汉测绘科技大学、湖北医科大学合并组建新的武汉大学，揭开了学校改革发展的崭新一页。合校十多年来，学校综合实力和核心竞争力不断提升。2020年，学校在软科世界大学学术排名（ARWU）中位列第199位，国际教育研究机构QS世界大学排名中位列第246位，泰晤士高等教育(THE)世界大学排名中位列351-400位。

Online Application
Please log in to the online application system at "Wuhan University International Students Service System” within the application period at http://admission.whu.edu.cn. After registration, please complete the "Wuhan University Application Form for Foreign Scholars and Students" correctly and completely, and upload the supporting documents and pay the application fee as required.

l Diploma of high school education or certificate of expected graduation (in Chinese or English)

l Score Report of HSK Level four or above (within the period of validity)

l Candidates who have any learning experiences in any universities or colleges in China should submit Discipline Records from those universities in China
l Certificate of application fee payment 800RMB（equals to 111USD for online payment）
l Physical examination report in the past three months (the original must be submitted when registering for admission)
Note：Applicants are required to submit scanned copies of all required documents during application. All uploaded documents should be in Chinese or English; otherwise notarized translations in Chinese or English are required. The original documents and certified translations are to be submitted at the registration time.

申请流程
1. 网上申请
请在录取时间内登录武汉大学国际学生申请系统，注册并登录后按要求真实、完整地填写《武汉大学外国留学生入学申请表》，并按照系统要求上传相关证明附件并交纳报名费。
1.1 申请材料
● 护照首页及来华签证页（如有）
● 最高学历证明或预毕业证明（中文或英文）
● 高中成绩单（中文或英文）
● 汉语考试成绩证明（有效期内）
● 经济担保证明（在线提供）
● 英语水平证明（托福或雅思等）
l 已在中国境内并有在华学习经历的申请者需提供前学习院校开据的在校表现情况说明。
l 交纳报名费800人民币的证明 (网上支付约合110美元)
l 近三个月体检报告（入学注册报到时必须提交原件）
注：申请者在网上提交所有申请材料的扫描件。所有申请材料需为中文或英文，或中英文翻译件的公证件。报到注册时需提供所有材料原件以供审核。

2. 综合测评
2.1材料评审
对于按时提交申请及相关证明的申请人，申请材料完整真实，否则将视为不合格申请。
2.2 考核与面试
通过材料评审的申请者进入面试环节，面试时间、方式将在后续通知。对于特别优秀的申请者，经过专家评审，可以免面试，予以录取。
3. 签证申请
被录取者应提交普通护照、录取文件中的《录取通知书》、《外国来华留学人员签证申请表》、《外国人体格检查记录》及所有体格检查（含血检）报告，在入境前根据其学习期限向中国驻其国籍国或居住地国使领馆或中国外交部委托的其他驻外机构申请办理学生（X1字或X2字）签证。
注明：被录取者如果不持学生签证入境，武汉大学将不能为其注册。
