Yantai University is located in Yantai city, Shandong Province, a Chinese cultural and historical city, which is a famous tourist destination. It is on the shore of the Yellow Sea, less than one hundred meters from the coast, a truly seaside University.

Yantai University was established in 1984. It is the only university established with the help of two famous universities of China, Beijing University and Tsinghua University. There are 22 colleges (departments), 65 research institutes, 22 authorized entry-level master’s degree subjects, 11 authorized master’s degree classifications and 69 undergraduate majors in our university, covering ten disciplines: literature, science, engineering, law, agriculture, medicine, economy, management, education and art. There are more than 30000 undergraduates, postgraduates and international students on campus. There are 4 national-level, first-rate undergraduate majors, 15 province-level, first-rate undergraduate majors, 4 national-level, specialty undergraduate majors, and 14 province-level, branded specialty majors.

Yantai University focuses on developing international academic communication and exchanges. We have established partnerships with more than 100 institutions and academic institutions of 29 countries and regions. We host HSK, TOPIK, BEC and other exams at our university. In 2015, our university was approved as “Shandong Province Chinese Educational Base.”

Yantai University has a full range of disciplines, all majors enroll international students, and feature international exchange colleges specialized in teaching Chinese as a foreign language. The school has recruited students from Korea, Russia, Mongolia, America, the UK, Germany, Finland, Spain, Italy, Japan, Vietnam, Thailand, Australia, New Zealand, and many others.
