Xidian University is a national key university under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Education, China. It was approved by the state to be one of the universities funded by “Project 211”. After over eighty years’ development, Xidian has developed distinctive feature in information science and electronics. According to the ESI data released recently, Engineering and Computer Science in Xidian ranks among the top 0.1% worldwide. In the Fourth National Assessment of First-level Disciplines, Electronic Science and Technology was rated A+, ranking first nationwide together with another university in China, Information and Communication Engineering was rated A, and Computer Science and Technology was rated A-. Electronic information science and technology of Xidian University continues to lead domestically. The employment rates of undergraduates and postgraduates have achieved 97% and 100% respectively, ranking top in China.In the new era, Xidian has been making great efforts to upgrade itself into a world first-class university featured in electronic and information science.
Xidian University has two campuses, north campus and south campus, occupying an area of 270 hectares, with the building area of over 1,300,000 square meters. Its two libraries boast a collection of 6.14 million volumes, of which there are about 2.34 million paper documents and about 3.8 million electronic documents, 1300 journals in foreign languages, and electronic resources in Chinese and foreign languages on 45 platforms with about 120 databases, covering all the disciplines and specialties of the university. Presently, the university has more than 33,000 students of all sorts, of whom there are over 1700 doctoral candidates and 9000 master degree seeking students. It has set up 18 schools, such as School of Telecommunications Engineering, School of Electronic Engineering, School of Computer Science and Technology, School of Mechatronic Engineering, School of Economics and Management, School of International Education, etc.
As a national key university, Xidian University actively expands the cooperation and exchange and has already built up the cooperative relationship with the institutions of higher education in France, America, Japan and Britain, etc. Till now, a total enrollment of more than 5,000 overseas students from 70 countries, such as America, Britain, Vietnam, Thailand, Laos, Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, Kenya, Zambia, Tanzania, Equatorial Guinea, Indonesia, etc.

7. Evaluation and Admission
Once all application documents being received, the School of International Education will collaborate with relevant schools or departments to review and evaluate all documents. The admission decision is made based on the applicant’s academic achievement and background.
Note: There are three types of admission 1. Admission without any assessment 2. Admission with Interview 3. Admission with paper test and interview. The location of the interview and the details of the test will be informed to the applicants via email or phone call.
8. Admission Result and Admission Letter
The admission result will be posted to the website of the School of International Education, The admission letter and JW202 form will be mailed to the applicant.

Experimental Practicing Base
As a national key university, Xidian University, following the concept of promoting reform and development based on Opening Up, has actively expanded its communication and cooperation with a large number of universities and institutions in France, America, Japan and Britain. Meanwhile, a large number of international talents who have international view, are familiar with international rules and can participate in international affairs and competition. By now, it has set up partnership and established joint laboratories with numerous international famous enterprises and state-level high-tech enterprise groups, such as Huawei Technology Co. Ltd., ZTE, Intel, Microsoft, IBM, and Hollysys Automation Technologies Ltd., which has greatly promoted its international talents cultivation to a new stage.
Facing with urgent needs of inculcation of values both from abroad and at home and adapting to demands of employers of source countries, Xidian gives full play of its advantages in both disciplines and collaboration with enterprises to provide unique personnel training to each student (recruitment-cultivation-employment) based on his/her own needs. In order to cultivate students’ initiative learning and promote their comprehensive capability in design and innovation, School has gradually formed a diversified and characteristic independent-interactive teaching method which well integrates four aspects of study, i.e. theoretical studies, participation in practical activities, sills training, and innovation. Meanwhile, four core areas, namely situational teaching, problem-based teaching, discussion-based teaching and encouraging evaluation are emphasized in class.
Xidian University attaches great importance to building a faculty team for high-level oversea students. We have established a strict system to select supervisors for oversea master and doctoral students. A“Dual Module” is available for cultivating students, namely, a module of “International Education School+Professional Schools”. In this module, research activities are carried out based on faculty teams. Students are encouraged to participate in their supervisor’s research projects to train advanced innovative talents demanded by enterprises.
Practicing Bases on Campus
Xidian University has many national and provincial demonstration centers for experimental teaching, including Electrical and Electronic Experimental Teaching Center, Training Center for Comprehensive Engineering, Experimental Teaching Center for Telecommunications and Information Engineering, Experimental Teaching Center for Integrated Circuit, Experimental Teaching Center for Economic Administration. In addition, with the consideration of students’ developmental features and the labor market demands, International Education School with Enterprises and other universities has established many practicing stations on campus, such as Xidian-Holly Sys Joint Laboratory, Innovative Practicing Bases of Telecommunications and Information Engineering for Oversea Students, and Innovative Practicing Bases of Embedded System Design for Oversea Students. Students can participate in innovative practicing activities in these bases.

International Education School has built many practicing platforms outside campus with Huawei Technology Co.Ltd., Zhongxing Telecommunication Equipment Corporation (ZTE), China Electronics Import and Export Corporation (CEIEC), Hollysys Automation Technologies Ltd., Neoway Technology Group, Xi’an Air-force Ordance Repair Factory, Northwest Machinery Co. Ltd, Xidian Group and many other advanced enterprises in IT industry. Such examples are Xidian-CETC Joint Training Base for Oversea Students, and Xidian-ZTE Joint Training Base for Oversea Students.
