Introduction for the Guangzhou Campus International Student’s Dormitory

 International students live in Guangzhou Campus.
In principle, all students have to live on campus. 

Dorm room

• Twin rooms and single rooms are offered for you to choose.
• It's 12,000 RMB per year for single room or 6,000 RMB  per year for twin room. 
• First come, first served.

Charged Water and electricity 
You have to pay the bills for water and electricity each month using your Campus Card. The hot water for bathing is providing from 6:30 to 23:30.

Dormitory Administration

• Those who are not living in the building should register when they enter the dormitory. Generally speaking, male students should get approval before they enter the female’s dormitory, vice versa.
• The dormitory building is open from 6:00 am - 23:30 pm.

Facilities and maintenance

• Each room is equiped with an air-conditioner, wardrobes, book shelves etc. If your dormitory’s lights or locker are broken, you can report to the Dormitory Administration. The relevant department will send staff to repair, but you have to pay for the materials necessary to repair.
• For your safety, it is prohibited to use power appliances, such as electric stove.  

Billboard
There will be a billboard in the dormitory’s lobby for promotion posters, notices, and bills for water and electricity. The promotion posters and notices posted up on the billboard should get approval from the relevant department first and the Dormitory Administration should be informed.
 

About Trash
Daily trash must be packaged and placed into the trash container. 

Application Documents

1. APPLICATION FORM FOR INTERNATIONAL STUDENT APPLYING FOR STUDY AT GUANGDONG UNIVERSITY OF FINANCE & ECONOMICS (See Attachment 1)

2. Valid passport(the validity date should be later than December 31 of the year of enrollment)

3. Degree and transcript of last education 

4. Two Recommendation Letters 

5. STATEMENT OF FINANCIAL SUPPORT (see Attachment 2 for a template) and certificate of deposit of the applicant or the applicant’s parent (at least 40,000 RMB yuan) 

6. Resume  (see Attachment 3): fill in the resume by following instructions

7. Study and Research Plan in GDUFE:it should include study experience, detailed study plan and goal, career plan, etc

8. Guangdong Government Outstanding International Student Scholarship Application Form (if apply) (See Attachment 4)

9. Language proficiency certificate：

• English-taught programs: IELTS or TOEFL (IBT) scores report 
• Chinese-taught programs: at least HSK 4(bachelor programs), HSK 5 (master and doctral programs)

10. publications (if applicable)

11. physical examination result

12. award(s) that can prove the applicant's merit (if applicable)

13. Non-criminal record (valid in latest 6 months)

       14. Guangdong Government Outstanding International Student Scholarship Application Form (if apply) (See Attachment 5)

• Applicants who excel in all courses during their high school years will be eligible to apply for scholarships upon formal admission
• When filling out the form, to avoid unrecognizable handwritten fonts and incorrect information, please use a computer to input and fill in accurately;
• Please do not modify the content and format of the form. Simply submit it in a Word format with digital signature on it

Application Procedures
Step 1: Applying. By May 8^th (for fall semester), the applicant should submit application documents to the applicant should submit documents in application website: https://gdufe.at0086.cn/StuApplication/Login.aspx
Step 2: Qualification Review. GDUFE will review applicants’ eligibility.
Step 3: Interview. GDUFE will interview in English the eligible applicants (internet or face-to-face) at a time and place to be notified later through email.
Step 4: Admission

1. GDUFE will accept applicants based on their qualifications and interview results, and determine scholarship candidates. The final scholarship winner list is subject to the results announced by the Guangdong Provincial Government.

2. GDUFE will issue and courier to the candidate the following documents: Study-in-China Certificate, Admission Notification, Information for Admission, and the Visa Application for Study in China (JW202).

3. Applicants shall pay tuition fee and accommodation fee within two weeks after receiving admission notice, or otherwise it will be deemed as a waiver of admission

Step 5: Students should apply for a X1 or X2 visa by submitting to the Chinese Embassy or Consulate the above-mentioned Study-in-China Certificate, Admission Notification and the Visa Application for Study in China (JW202). And within 30 days since the date of entering into China, they should change X1 to study residence permit, otherwise, the admission will be canceled.

3.Insurance:

800 RMB/year. According to provisions of Ministry of Education, International students should purchase“Comprehensive Insurance for Foreigners Studying in China” after arrival in China (coverage including accidents and disease medical treatment, hospitalization medical treatment, accidental disability and death insurance etc).

4.Scholarship:

• Education Fund for freshmen (for qualified candidates receiving degree education with excellent performance):

        20, 000RMB for qualified undergraduates
        30, 000RMB for qualified undergraduates
        40, 000RMB for qualified doctors
 

• Guangdong Government Outstanding International Student Scholarship (for qualified degree program with excellent performance): 

        10,000RMB per academic year (for qualified undergraduate candidates)
        20,000RMB per academic year (for qualified postgraduates candidates)
 

• GDUFE Aademic Scholarship for doctors: 10000 RMB/person/year.

• GDUFE Academic Allowance for doctors: Doctoral supervisors provide an annual allowance of no less than 12,000 yuan for their international doctoral students, which is used for scientific research or academic exchanges.
