Non-degree Chinese Culture and Language Programs
for International Students of Northwest University
I. Course Introduction:
1. Duration: One semester or more.
2. Curriculum:
v Compulsory courses---Comprehensive Reading, listening, speaking and writing.
v Electives courses--- Tai Chi (Tai-Ji), Calligraphy, Chinese painting, etc.
3. Class hours: 20 credit hours / week.
4. Classes: Elementary Chinese Language, Intermediate Chinese Language, and Advanced Chinese Language Classes.
5. Language and cultural practice:
Each semester, the School of International Cultural Exchange will arrange various cultural activities and sports events for international students. All students are welcome to participated in.
II. Applicants Eligibility Requirement:
1. Above 18 years of age, and with good health status;
2. Valid passport;
3. High school / senior secondary or advanced diploma.
III. Application Deadline:
² June 30th: for Fall Semester
² December 30th: for Spring Semester
IV. Scholarship Available:
²International Chinese Language Teachers Scholarship (One Semester or One Year Chinese Language student)
Scholarship coverage:
1.A waiver of fee for tuition.
2.Free on-campus accommodation.
3.Monthly living allowance.
4.Comprehensive Medical Insurance and Protection Scheme for Intl. Students in China.

V. Application Materials:
1. Application Form for Foreign Students to NWU with signature;
2. Copy of Passport Photopage;
3. Notarized highest diploma (Prospective diploma recipients must submit official document issued by your current school to prove your current student status or expected graduation date);
4. Academic transcripts;
5. Foreigner Physical Examination Form
Notes:Documents in languages other than Chinese or English must be attached with notarized Chinese or English translations.No application documents will be returned.
