Brief Introduction & Cultivation Objective:
The discipline of world history was drafted in the 1950s, which is one of the earliest establishments among all of the Chinese universities. The master degree program of world history was approved in 1982 and the doctoral degree program was approved in 1986. The program is aiming at cultivating special talents who can teach and conduct research or work in the relevant field of regional history under the world history frame. The students are required to master related academic knowledge in history, acquire teaching and research ability to perform relevant teaching and scientific research independently, moreover, to have strong team-work and self-discipline quality.
Main Courses:
Study of the View and Methodology of History, Introduction to the Middle East Research, Modernization and Nationalism Theory, General Theory of World History, The Interdisciplinary Frontier Theory of Middle East Studies
