The Master of European and International Law (MEIL) is a one-year programme leading to an LL.M. degree conferred by the University of Hamburg (UHH). It is taught in English at the China-EU School of Law (CESL) at the China University of Political Science and Law (CUPL) in Beijing. One of CESL's goals is to educate well-rounded legal professionals who have a thorough knowledge of Chinese law, EU law and international law. This is a cooperative programme between the University of Hamburg and the China University of Political Science and Law. The LL.M. programme is registered with the Chinese authorities and fully recognised in China, the EU and worldwide.
Applicants must meet the following conditions:
Applicants for the Master of European and International Law must have obtained or be expected to obtain a law degree (Bachelor of Laws, State Examination or equivalent) prior to enrolment at CESL.
If English is not your first language and was not the language of instruction for your entire first degree then you must also satisfy CESL's English language requirements. Evidence of your linguistic ability will be required and you will need to submit a valid English test score:
1. TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) with a minimum score of 100.
2. IELTS (International English Language Testing System) with a minimum score of 7.0.
