The Bachelor of Marine Pharmaceutical Science is offered under the College of Food and Pharmaceutical Sciences of Ningbo University, and serves to meet the need of local economic and social development in this exciting field. Students of Marine Pharmaceutical Science study the basic theories and gain knowledge at the interface of chemistry, biology, medicine, and marine sciences. This program trains future elites with pharmaceutical knowledge and hands-on experimental skills so they are prepared to work and engage in and marine drug research, development, production, quality assessment, management, regulatory affairs, and teaching. This professional training is designed to support the development of marine medical and health undertakings in China and elsewhere, and incorporates the basic principles of classical pharmacy while focusing on marine biotechnology and biomedicine. Our students work with world-class researchers to do drug design and synthesis, pharmacology, pharmaceutical formulations and preparations, drug quality inspection and analysis, and finally understand clinical drug use. Graduates of this major typically find high-end technical work in the pharmaceutical and marine biotechnology companies of Zhejiang Province, or go on to do marine drug research and development in graduate (MS, PhD) programs in Chinese or international universities.
