Program Introduction:
Oil and gas resources, including petroleum and natural gas, are buried in the formation of fossil fuels. Petroleum and natural gas engineering is a knowledge, technology and capital intensive field centering on oil and gas resource drilling, exploration and transportation. It is the core business in oil and gas engineering, including well drilling, completion, oil and gas reservoir, production and transportation. As a discipline, oil and gas engineering mainly focuses on scientific research and talent cultivation for the industry. Its main research lies on subjective and objective constrains, fundamental characteristics and change rules regarding oil and gas engineering entities like formation, fluid and engineering equipment. Key subjects like mechanics and chemical behaviors, mine information measurement and engineering design and control are also included. Besides, this discipline is closely related to many others, such as geology, mining industry, mechanics, chemistry, material, electromechanical, control, offshore, environment and management.
